DEALER, Cologne, Germany
On 2/18/2001 Jonas Repke wrote in from (213.21.nnn.nnn)

The shop is small, good and has from what I have experienced a ok service. I wanted some new trucks and the Guy told me the pro cand cons of the different trucks. He also told me about cheaper alternatives like risers and stuff. It's not directly in the center of town, but it's really worth the walk (or ride). The only shop in Cologne that carrys (almost) all longbaord equipment you need. (boards, various trucks, wheels, risers, pads). They also sell wake, snow and surf stuff.

Purple Skunk/weather permitting
On 1/25/2001 Ryan M wrote in from (165.236.nnn.nnn)

I'm going to SF on Saturday thru Tues, to test drive a comet 40" parktail with r2s, but the weather is really disagreeing with my fantasy skate session. Do they give a crap if I take their stuff out through the rain? I would imagine so, I don't know if a comet can delaminate but I don't want to find out. I was planning on skating 4 miles back to the holiday inn right near chinatown, but every intersection might still be flooded. Can I play with their board in the rain? Any info would be apprecieated, thanks!!!!

I have found lotsa good longboard stuff at the purple skunk in sf california, everyplace else that i have found in the area has either gone out of business or doesnt carry longboard equipment regularly, ive seen losta decks but most places dont have good trucks, i once bought a pair of randall 2s at a shop in 4th st in san rafael, but they didnt seem like a longboard specialty shop...

Boston shops
On 1/4/2001 Lansing wrote in from (24.218.nnn.nnn)

Eric,

I dunno about "Boston proper," but the skateshop right in Harvard Square (can't remember the name of it at the moment) has a decent selection of longboards; mostly Sector 9 & FlexDex. However, their selection of longboard trucks & wheels sucks. Face it: if you want a good selection of longboard/downhill skate stuff in Boston, your best bet is to log on to good ol' www.longskate.com or www.solidskate.com! Most of the shops I've been to have NO longboard stuff.

At the end of West Mission Bay Drive, on the boardwalk in Mission Beach.

I was there today to check if they have anything new. I see a pair of randal DOWNHILL trucks, $19.99 each ($39.98 for a pair). Grabbed me a set, they have one pair left as of today.

NoVa DC
On 1/3/2001 PCB wrote in from (207.172.nnn.nnn)

SK8r,
Based in DC, Doug Dupin makes his decks and sells them over the internet with Randal trucks and Exkate, P.Paw & XT wheels. His website, http://www.migrationboards.com offers his decks and Randals for sale in addition to complete boards. He might sell you the wheels separately.

Fairfax Surfshop in Fairfax sells classic Kryptos for $40 a set and Evolve Boardshop in Bethesda MD sells the same for only $30 a set. Evolve might also have the Libtech longboard deck. Eastcoast Boardshop might sell a few complete Sector9 and Gravitys. A jock-skater shop in Fair Oaks Mall called Active Edge used to have a complete s9 Phoenix and maybe a 9-ball beast but they probably come with crappy 60mm wheels and skinny trucks.
Good Luck

Boston Shops?
On 12/30/2000 eric wrote in from (208.133.nnn.nnn)

I've checked the archives, and have seen stuff in the Boston area. Is there anything in Boston proper worth checking out, either for the longboard or slalom scene? Specifically looking at truck and wheel selection.

Thanks,
E

We need it at some of my local shops (in Northern Virginia). Perhaps it might encourage the owners to stock more than just flippy sticks.
