Two shops in downtown Boone catering to the Mountaineers and out of town visitors like myself.
Fusion- All in all, pretty crappy. The guy who worked there was nice enough, but the inventory was non-existant. They did have a set of R-II's, but that was about it. Even the short board selection was lacking.
Farmers Backside- What a scary, scary name. Anyway, a bit better. Trucks from Indy in everything from 101-215. Wheel selection was crap, but they did have boards from S9 (like everyone else), Dregs and Envy. Also a few of the Beer models.
All in all, Boone is a pretty cool town, especially if you like vegy. food, bouldering, boating and hippies (ok, so there was a dispreportionate amount of hippies). If you need new bearings, either shop has you covered.

Didn't catch your name, but for buses out of NYC, the portauthority bus terminal in mid town NYC might be a bit more convenient the bus line is 165 goes to the same place as the 14 but the 14 is a bit less consistant, sometimes it doesn't go all the way to Westwood.Good luck.

Anyone looking for a longboard mail order company in the uk should check em out. They also ship to Europe, complete boards, wheels, trucks etc and the stuff is way cheaper than in skate shops.

I've posted this before, last year I think....but for the denver boys, check out Thrifty Stick in Denver, on 1464 S Broadway.
Its a small, privately owned skate shop that sells new and used boards, and leans more toward the longboarder and mountain boarder. Most of their decks are Sector 9's but they have other decks there too.
I even saw a Sector9 slalom board...and it wasn't a cosmic...this was a very small board with slalom trucks on it.
Anyway, the owner (Kendra) is chill. Check it out if you have money to burn.
Peace

This shop has two, $99, longboard completes, shop demos.
Both are in good shape (for demo boards). Both over 40'', both under 63''. Trucks and wheels are blanks, decks are "branded".
Post back if anyone wants more info.

few weeks ago, spent the entire morning testing out nearly every long & slalom board they had on the walls. "yeah, take 'em for a ride," i was encouraged. 'round the corner there's a 100-yard sidewalk w/ slight decline & quasi-banks (driveways & stair inclines). wendell & staff are some of the coolest & down-to-earth people you'll ever meet. knowlegeable w/ best customer service of any skate shop i've ever been to (& i'm from san diego). good vibes, even when the place was packed w/ customers to attend to. a must-see for norcal skaters or those just rolling through.

East Coast Boarding Company in Fairfax, VA had a few Sector 9 park longboards a few weeks ago. Evolve in Bethesda, MD also might have a few. It should be easy to find a shop in Jacksonville that has some park boards.

Anyone know of any shops that sell longboard components in the Kona/Jacksonville/St.Augustine Florida area (or anywhere along the i-95 DC-FL "corridor")? I'm looking for a "park-deck" that's at least 38" long and has at least 21" truck-hole wheelbase and perhaps a set of center-set 65mm wheels. I'll check the archives, but would appreciate any info from anyone, I'm leaving tomorrow (Thursday).

Hey JR- I have yet to make it over to ERW (just found out about em), but Cal's Skate shop is prety cool. Mostly short boards, but a fair number of long stuff too, along with actuall long board trucks and wheels. They might even have some slalom stuff, but its been a while. Also Cal's Pharmacy, but they don't really ahve a clue (cheap grip though).
