I've done a few semi enduro things (skiied Hangman's Hallow @ Mammoth 10 times in 2 hours, rode 5 or 6 century bike rides, paddled 28 miles in the ocean twice on my surfski, and hiked 22 miles up-and-down Mount Whitney in a day a couple of times), but 200 miles on a skateboard....I lift my skateboard deck to you with respect. I read your write up, and it sounds like the second day was a real mind over body experience. It's a strange place when you almost block out all external stimuli and focus as hard as you can on what's happening internally. When a slight change in body postion/angle can bring you another 5-10 minutes of relief. Way to go! See you next year @ Hood! Art     Rate post 242888 ! It was an experimental ride and turned out to be one of the most phenomenal experiences in my life. I didn't hype up the media or spam on it too much because, well, I wasn't quite sure day #2 was even going to happen! But I'll let you know for sure next time I skate down there, say, this time next year so we can do brewskis afterward! On 7/19/2006 Josh B wrote in from United States  (24.20.nnn.nnn) The 2006 Bridge Pedal in Portland is scheduled for the same day as the Combo-Plate race in Seattle. There will be a few Portlanders doing the ride. Those who aren't need to find a good way out of town! This year ALL the bridges will be used. The following weekend is the Nationals, and the weekend after that is Portland Pusher #6. Also, the Festival of Wheels in Goldendale,WA (MARYHILL!!!) is the same weekend as La Costa. Met with the orthopedist yesterday, a couple of cracks but probably no surgery, 6 weeks of healing and some PT and I'll be back. The doc has me scheduled for a CAT scan but isn't expecting that to change anything. Sounds like Tim deserves the award, two fractured ankles and he was still trying to race! Get better quick Tim!! I was thinking if we did Big 'n Fast in Portland, we could probably do a Tight/Hybrid @ WSU the same day. Maybe?? Even with a injured ankle he still tried to skate on Sunday.Not knowing he had fractured not only the swollen ankle but the other as well.Now he's laid up for 3 weeks and going have to go through some physical therapy. (Most of us at that race). "New Adults" New racers, but old enough to be called adults. "Kids" And with more promotion and avoiding schedule conflicts, we should have more racers. As far as CSA events in general, I think a single class is the way to go, since our races are not really big enough for further breaking into classes.     Rate post 241290 ! Hopefully everyone liked the courses (I did, but then again I'm the one who set them). Thanks to everyone else who showed up and helped setup/teardown, conehead, cheer each other on, etc. "A" CLASS/ "B" CLASS/ OPEN CLASS???? - Do we at some point want to start having an A and B class? or do we just want to keep having open class racing. Personally I do not care but since I and a few others in CSA have made it to the A Class in National/World events, Do the rest of you think CSA should use that as a guage and have a CSA "A" bracket? If more peaple would show up because they felt like they had more of a chance to win in a separate class, that might be worth the extra trouble. I don't want to be a trophy/medal hog and would like to see others get more chances at medals, since I have plenty on my racing shelf. The NCDSA posting says 0900 and the State Games site says 1000. Both are correct. We will start the 1st official timed run promptly at 1000. We will have the course set up and ready to run at 0900. Between 0900 and 1000 I will take on-site registrations, allow practice/tune-up runs, etc. With the courses already marked there should be no excuse not to be all ready to go in the cooler hours of the morning. The earlier we start, the less time we have to sit out in the record-high triple-digit temperatures predicted for race day. -- Pat     Rate post 240898 !
