Munchh, You may have a prototype which is totally flat without concave, hopefully it's not one of the prototypes with camber. If you check out the www.subsonicskateboards.com site, click on the "Future" icon or the "Concave Decks" icon and scroll down until you see the deck with double carbon diagonal stringers and fiberglass top and bottom with concave and wheelwells. It's the ONLY deck I have used for more than one racing season and it has served me VERY well.
The Concave version is preferable. One like I ride is a little more spendy if you order it from Scott but I think it's worth it. Skip(who just responded to you) has an assymetrical custom deck from Scott and it's WAY Cool! Very aesthetically pleasing and functional. Anyhow, I just had to put a plug in for my sponsor. Email me and let me know what the deck looks like when you get it and I can probably tell you the path it took.
Skip- See you in Seattle in 2 weeks?- Adios-Paul

You can't go wrong with the Pauliwog. I think I may have even ridden that particular board.
My first slalom board was a used Pauliwog that Paul had ridden. He donated it to the first raceI attended as a prize for DFL (last place). I'm hooked now! I loved the versatility of having so many wheelbases. It's a super functional shape, and built really well. Even his bumpers are alot more functional than you would think. In short...you're stoked.
Does purchasing a board from Paul mean you have lifetime online support for all your tech questions?

Munchh,
if your asking if it has concave....not at the moment, its also got approx 1/2" camber tip/tail.
the finish, is as you would expect with gecko decks, immaculate!!
Not had the chance to put it through any cones as yet, looks like the firts time could be this weekend in Brixlegg!!

i found a near mint Grosso Wonderland in the attic of the new house i rented it isn't even gripped although it does have rails which i suppose diminish the value a little but it looks like some rich kid got it for christmas and did a couple tictaks on the carpet then put it in a corner so my question to you is what is a proper asking price on ebay for this good karma?

I'm six five and around 180 Pounds. My favourite board is a Lush Bahari44 with 12 Plys. I had a 40inch 6ply Wood/2Ply Glass once and it was way to soft for me. My 39 Gravity Carver 7ply feels nice, is a little to stiff for pumping and it is way to nervous for cruising and carving. Finaly I would recomend the longer board with 7 plys.

Big shout out to Richie and Maria who brought me one of the newest in the AXE line, an AXE III JESTER, to the Buckeye. I had sold my PPS and didn't have a GS board and set the AXE III up on race day and it KILLED! This board rocks as much as my AXE. Thanks for hauling it all the way from California for me! You guys are awesome!
If you are looking for an awesome, stiff, GS machine, this is the DECK for you!

Board Length rantingzzz....

My favorite length is in between 36" and 42" 's. A nice cambered / concave "7-ply somethin" or other that i've been riding since the early 70's keeps me happy. Fiberflex as I remember it was too twangy and the fiberglass with my type of riding would break down to quick and i was too cheap to buy another. But needless to say that programmed flex was something to behold coming off boring s#@! I had to deal with back in the 70's. It got me some notoriety like Steve Cathy and Doug Salidino! Henry Hester and Bob Skolberg. Dennis Martinez, Stacey Peralta, Alva :D, Bobby Turner!, Larry Gordon, Gary Keating, Bill Andrews, Warren Bolster, Greg Weaver, Logan's and the list goes on... Wood you believe that it's still cheap? yes, composites rock but I aint paying for something i can get out of a good old wood design. Trucks like originals allow me to turn on a dime. Rollerskating, iceskating pivotting allows me that quick turn that the rollerskate design cant provide for a pumpin skateboard. The distance between the trucks make it obvioulsy a design to reckon with. The smooth arc that the originals let me explore, is yummy delicious it's kinda 've hard to explain. I'm out often working-out in Pacific and Mission Beach 3-4 days out of the week. I have to work :( Come out and see as long as it lasts ....
Anyways, the tighter the arcs from the beginning(dead start) allow me to get on it ASAP :D . Longer boards than that just seem to be overkill and would serve better as an ironing board or something to hang on the wall. I guess getting old leads to senility and here you get to see an old skate f#@! like me sharing the times.
I figure after hosting many website message boards and seeing the crap that goes on there ... I could do something with this board :D
Best skateboard board on the plant! Thanks Adam ... you duh manG

The shorter cosmics (34" and 38") have maple plus fiberglass. The supercruiser model is just 7 plys of maple (no glass). It will accomodate a heavier rider but it still has a decent amount of flex for a 160 lbs rider. Its got a nice concave and camber too. Just make sure to get some randals on it -Julien

It is my opinion, but I like the flex of the Vanguard for a cruiser. You do give up the kicktail if you like to kickturn a lot. Check out this video for some Loaded action (http://whoisadamcolton.com/videogetloose.mov)

I need to know which would be a better deck for me. I'm looking to buy a Sector 9 board from their Cosmic series. I like flex in a board and I think the J-Bay / Tikehau would be perfect for what I'm looking for except that at 38" I'm afraid it might be a little short for me. I'm about 6'1" and weigh about 160lbs. The Austria / Teahupoo is 46" which I think would be a better length but it's 7 ply instead of 5 which could make it stiffer. It says that the Austria / Teahupoo is built for heavier riders and I don't think I'd fit into that catagory. Anybody have any thoughts? Would the added 10" of the Austria / Teahupoo counter the stiffness added by the additional 3 plys? Thanks!
