Deck Reviews (10390 Posts) Deck Review rockered deck On 5/10/2005 GlenD wrote in from United States  (216.102.nnn.nnn) I've been wanting a rockered deck for a while and was afriad to skate my old Hobie Parkrider so walla. I made a rockered deck. My 11 and 13 year old think it's a blast to ride. I do too. the shape is an enlarged trace of a Logan earth Ski Torger Johnson deck. If I was to do it again, I'd make the tail wider and more square, like a G&S Teamrider, and carry the width a little closer to the nose. It's stiff as all hell, as a rockered deck needs to be. It allows the thing to turn really tight turns. This is about 33" long, and 8.25 wide. I'd make it an inch longer and move the rear trucks forward 3/4" and the front truck forward the same amount and probably go to a full 9" width. The rocker which is perfect is about 1.25" if the board is upside down. The other deck on the page is just one I painted and drew a pattern on.     Rate post 205932 ! On 5/10/2005 joseph wrote in from Australia  (211.30.nnn.nnn) currently looking at three boards in there lineup and just looking for some feedback on the flex's concave etc... the three models i'm looking at are 40 inch old punk longboard for sliding on (with 88a gummies and indys) drop through downhill deck for pushing bombing carving everything 36 inch hardcore super gs board for pumping around and carving. if anyone feels like posting a review on any of these boards it would be apreciated. also anyone know what e-mail to use? i sent an e-mail four days ago to the sales one on the site and am kind of in a hurry.     Rate post 205914 ! The new Pavel "Roadster" Paul Price model is close to being perfected. I am very excited about the board, which I designed with sports car influences rather than the traditional surf board shape and its non-functional narrow tail. With lots of input from the Pavel team of designers and builders my vision has come to life! It is wider at the rear for better grip and acceleration and has wheel arches for power and control. The concave and spooned nose give terrific front foot-hold and the width at the rear and kick-tail make for some super rear-wheel drive power. Pumping this board is amazing. The earlier ones are flat (no concave) with a kicktail and wheelwells... the newer version is concave without the wheelwells... Both are killer; but the concave model is a bit stiffer. Really, really fun boards and, like all the Koping Killer decks,very high quality. I have the flat one set up with Destructo street trucks and 65mm 85a Rainskates Tsunamis; and my concave one has Indy 101s (or 109s or whatever they call them now) with 3DM Cambrias. It's a great little cruiser/bank/ditchrider. Excellent little deck... Kinda like the banana boards I had as a kid; but scaled up to fit a grown man a lot better....     Rate post 205812 ! Has a slightly different feel than a wood board but is light as heck and seems damn near unbreakable. Yeah they do run about 3 times the cost of a normal board but at the rate you seem to be breaking decks this cost will be offset in no time Julien (also look at comet's comtop decks and the Santa cruz Powerply decks for reinforced boards)     Rate post 205647 ! I really don't dig 16" wheelbases or 9" decks. I like 10" decks with longer wheelbases. But the other day my bro brought his new PPS pool deck to the park and I gave it a shot. I can't explain it, but it just felt GOOD! The concave and the tail felt much better than other 9x33's that I've ridden. Rode like a bigger deck. It's a 44", firm flex kicktail board I'd call the evolution of the TeamRider into a longboard. They have their completes built with Randal II 150's and Kryptos, I think, but it was the deck that sucked me in. The flex is outstanding, the kicktail substantial and firm.
