just wanted to write in and say that im really stoked to be getting the feedback and offers for sessioning and being coached by some of you guys out there who are kickin as s in this sport....also that certain companies have stepped up to the plate and are willing to hook me with good gear to ride....help me get set up on the right equiptment and also do some coaching with me......things have changed a lot over the years...i mean we in the dogtown day would NEVER have offered to help teach someone (except among our group of dogs) how to say ...ride a pool ...slash gring coping etc....its just really nice to be older and getting into a sport where allthough its competitive,,,,people ive hooked up with seem to be in it for the fun of it and love for sk8n.....its all good....thanks to all peace WR-IV

No kidding? h0dad was in that case probably a little hasty in judging the slide, which was a 3-second little bite in an advert. Show's on in 15 mins, h0dad's fully looking forward to receiving the wisdom. Footdragging? h0dad loves footdragging and so does his local skate footwear vendor.

Adam, I wanted to make you aware of some glitches I`ve noticed in some posts. It seems that somehow a space is being added in the middle of words. I thought it was poster error at first but I have proven that to not be the case. You see, I copy a section of anothers post that contained that error and put it in my post correcting it. And after submitting my post, the error reappeared.
Also another glitch with the < b > showing up when it shouldn`t (seems to be shadowing McCree a lot).
You are already aware of it but I thought I`d mention it to you just in case you weren`t.

h0dad just saw an advert for some kind of "face your fears" program called "Worst Case Scenario" in which a guy appeared to be taking a Coleman slide on some kind of long board with kicktails. He was late-30's, helmetted and padded, sliding out onto his arse, letting the back swing out a bit far.
Whoah buds..face your fears and go downhill, by the looks. h0dad approves such progressive television and will be viewing.

Last night (May 28) there was a guy named "Chris" on "Wheel Of Fortune." He was an average looking guy in a nice suit with jet black hair.
He said he was a marketing rep with a "major skateboard company" and that he enjoyed slalom skateboarding and snowboarding.
Anyone know who this is? Any industry rumors of a guy who made it to the stage? I didn't watch the whole show but was alerted by my mom who was watching to turn over and see who he was. I had no idea. I also told my mom that a "major skateboard company" could be anything from a major player to some wholesaler that sells 10,000 a month to Wal Mart.
Oh, I believe he also won last night, so I'm assuming he'll return tonight. Of course, WOF is taped in synidication and the order the shows are aired may vary from city to city. So there's no guarantee the episode I saw last night will be the same episode you saw. Still, I found the whole thing a little interesting.

just getting really stoked on slalom stuff after ALOT OF YEARS !! had some one come up to wellfleet on capecod where i live (joe i) from conn. and brought a bunch of boards to try and we set a course and i was instantly hooked !!! had a blast and did pretty good for an old dog !!! im gearing up and have intentions on training hard and getting into racing......sk8n has really been fun again and the slalom stuff is most appealing as i have a knee injury in which a lot of the low pivitol moves/slides etc that i love to do seem to aggravate that bushing in my knee joint...thus far slalom racing is much more forgiving on that knee....im stoked and excited about being involved in the whole scene anybody in the area willing to give me some pointers and skate with me please get in touch.....peace WR-IV O.G.Z-BOY

A bug discovered by Gareth was distorting posted links by embedding a space in the middle of the URL. It is now fixed and all previously entered links will now work as intended.

Adam, thanks for all your great work. The new Home page is extremely well done, in my opinion.
Also, this solves the question of how to bookmark NCDSA. There was no need to pass through the old homepage, so I tended to keep my bookmark (which naturally appears on the Toolbar of my browser) set to whatever forum was currently most active or interesting.
The question then became, how to avoid bad vibes, especially first thing in the morning. These days, any given forum can melt down unpredictably into name-calling and macho posturing -- especially since a certain well-known skater has made himself a conspicuous presence on NCDSA (again).
A few months back, I changed my bookmark from Slalom to Decks, where things are generally peaceful. But the new Home page is a better solution. Now it's easy to scan the latest postings and tell at a glance where the Scabfest is happening. (At this writing, it's in Trucks.)
An improved Search feature will be a great thing. I know these modifications represent a huge amount of work on Adam's part. But it's a noble undertaking, and a great many people truly benefit, as well as the sport of skateboarding as a whole. Thanks on behalf of the Silent Majority.

From the webmaster..
OK, I'm done redesigning the Home page for a while! Final improvements include displaying recent podium results in the Racing Info section. Race organizers using the Contest Calendar now have more reason than ever to get their results posted!
Now on to the new Search page..
