Trolls are a problem. I took the forum down completely from my Bob's Trick Tips site because of a recurring troll. Frankly, I could have tracked him down, since he lives here in Texas (about 2 hours away from me) but I decided my forum had become a dumping ground anyway -- so its inactive right now. Beating up a 15 year old can only bring bad karma, right?
When people use dialup accounts, they get different IPs every time, so it is hard to ban a particular IP address and make it effective.
On my site, I'm seriously considering making it an "invitation only" site -- a new person will have to get the recommendation of a current member to get in. That way the membership is responsible for themselves. Thats sort of a bummer, but until someone comes up with a better strategy it the only good method of Troll Controll I have come up with.
The IP you gave resolves to the following provider:
OrgName: Asia Pacific Network Information Centre OrgID: APNIC Address: PO Box 2131 City: Milton StateProv: QLD PostalCode: 4064 Country: AU
ReferralServer: whois://whois.apnic.net
NetRange: 202.0.0.0 - 203.255.255.255

LONGLEAT I would like to make it known that myself and event manager Caleb Clark are no longer involved in this event. I was ripped off for many weeks work and caleb quite simply hasnt got the time to deal with idiots. We do not feel that the promoter is capable of running an event to Longleats high standards as he has absolutely no experience and is not being completely truthful with Longleats staff. We feel that this is likely to result in the event foundering and eliminating any possibility of a true racing event at Longleat at any point in the future. I take no pleasure in posting this and wish any of you who get involved in this event the best of luck. You'll need it

He posts under all kinds of names (several IDs) and the website is pretty much shut down right now. The last IP address I saw him from was 202.186.7.250.
Thanks!

I have an URGENT REQUEST I am hoping some of the folks here can help me with. Another (non-skateboarding related) site I help out with is having a very difficult time with a virulent troll. It would be very helpful if we could find a website that can tell us which ISP the person is using based on their IP address. I know there are a great many IP sleuths here, some of whom actually know what they are doing, so I am hoping someone can help out. I know nothing of these matters, and it appears the guy who runs the site doesn't either. THANKS!

If I'm not mistaken, that race at Longleat will offer the rare oppotunity of being eaten by lions or beaten by a 500lb. gorilla, if you fall off your skateboard. Unless of course the race is in a different section than the one I saw a few years back...

Found: one mid 80's complete pool/park set up. It sat in an odd location for days before rain compelled me to shelter it. I'd like to return it to it's owner. Email me with a description of the board and you'll get it back.

Event Calendar Update Just wanted to let you all know about a simple “month at a glance” calendar which is being hosted on our website: SK8KINGS.COM (go to “NEWS” and then “EVENT CALENDAR”).
I’ve plotted all the upcoming slalom and other events I know about and am making updates regularly. The main goal is to incorporate as many skate-related events as possible into one list/location regardless of discipline. Anyway – it’s a free thing and open to everyone so if you’re planning something and trying to avoid other events – it’s a free resource for you to check. Each listing is basic but can include links to event web pages and registration pages (which I’ve included for everything I know about). Through Feb 4 -- the public (you) can submit events directly if you want. Otherwise – just shoot me an e-mail with the info and I’ll add it.

Ben, DC is actually a pretty happening town, when it comes to longboarding and slalom racing. There's actually a group of guys in-town, the DC Downhill Crew (DCDC) who seem to be longboarding around town on a regular basis. There is also a fairly large mid-Atlantic community of slalom racers that seem to center in the DC area. There is even an underground race series called the DC Outlaw Series. My advice to you would be to watch the Events forum and the Contest Calendar here at Ncdsa.com, or for more information, shoot me an e-mail directly.

Ben:
My recommendation on a longboard would be a Bozi MB-II M-Core and let Jeff recommend wheels and trucks for you, based on your weight and riding style. You can see his gear at www.boziboards.com. His boards are top-notch and combine that with his excellent knowledge, advice and customer service - best longboards period.
In regards to getting together with other riders, where are you based??
Hope it helps,
Rob
