Hey Biff I don't know anything about judging, but I am also a small midwest town Known as Springfield, IL maybe you live close? probably not, but thought I'd try anyways. We don't have much for the youngins to do either, However we got an outdoor bowl with some ledges, rails, and boxes to let em play with. Not alot for us speedsters though. well good luck judging.

LAST CALL!!! The Route 279 extention to Bennington's west will be a Public Highway on OCT. 18th.The best access is now off of Orebed Rd.,just near the VT./N.Y. stateline on Rts. 9+7,look for the pulloffs near the first underpass, and hike in Softly(as not to upset the local Farmers). For those of you who've seen the photos/video,you know only 1/3 of what's actually there.Does a 4-lane-wide,4% grade of a mile in length with absolutely fresh tar,and NO Cars sound like a good thing? TK,Tway,JG,Lisa,Elisa,Katii,The Cutting Edge Boyz,Bobby B,Steve P,John F,the NorEast Crew, and Anyone withing 3 hrs. of Bennington,Come and Get It!! I'll be there next Sunday(no construction crews then),and during the weekend after that.Bring Fast Boards, maybe cones and Chalk, too. I'm working on the Locals to show,as well. This is a Closed Road right now,and an active construction zone.I've let ya know more-or-less where it's at,but you are responsible for the rest. After this,it's GONE...

Biff, take a look over at USASA's webpage.Look carefully, and note the names of the Snowboard Coaches listed.Maybe, just maybe,Kevin Burke,or someone in the position of 'Head Judge' can forward you some tips and/or 'judging cards'.When I jugded,I was involved in a small way in helping nail down a format that could be used with consistentcy, and we broke stuff down into three major items of 'performance'; 1st, Tech,or Trick difficulty; 2nd, Air or Amplitude; 3rd, Style or Flow;,; Later,Landings became a criteria of their own. Keep it simple in 'points' values, like a 1-10 scale,in any catagory. The hard thing here is for you to know what's a 'tough' trick, and what's relatively easy to do.The other thing is to have enough 'judges' to be able to watch all that happens. When we'd get shorthanded,it was often a case of having one judge file for two criteria, but that takes quick eyes, and writing skills. Your endeavour is a noble one,but Don't get in over your head by promising before you understand just how Deep the Muck is that you're Stepping into!! Ask around for older skaters, ones who might have a clue, and be willing to catch a tan while watching youngin's try out Nollie Kickflip 360's. Maybe also see if the Skateboard World has a 'judging' criterion posted up on the web somewhere. You'll likely need at least 3 judges to handle a group of more than three-dozen skaters,so... Yup.LOL! If you wish, you can e-mail me at ebrammer@adelphia.net,however,I'm a Fossil by StreetSK8 standards, and by now have forgotten whatever it was I thought I knew.

Dudes, I am just a longboarder in a small midwestern town. I've been spotted out on my soulboard a lot of times and somebodies mom came to my house the other day and asked if I'd be a judge in this town's first freestyle skateboard contest. I said I'd try to help cause there's not a lot for kids to do in this town that's positive and good for them. Problem is that I don't know a damn thing about judging. Can anyone hook me up with some info or maybe some links where I can pick the basics up ? I don't want to let these kids down. Many thanks.

Hey,I'm looking for info on good Hotels that offer Suites at Morro Bay,or nearby locales that'll put us in MB within a 1/2 hour or so. Anyone out there that has a good recommendation, preferrably from previous experience? It's important that this be a Suite, and that is a good-quality Hotel,as I'm travelling with Adam Schwippert and his Mom.They'll be wanting a tad bit of space to get away from his coach (esp. after a trans-continental flight!). Thanks in advance! You can post here, obviously, but I'd prefer you write me at Ebrammer@adelphia.net with any insights. [Whoo-Hoo,I get to go back to Cali to Sk8!]

Hey Mike, Someone will probably see this but you might want to post this over at the banks and ditches board, lots of ABQ folks are posting there all the time. K-Lee or someone I am sure would be willing to help you out. I can hardly wait until I can get time to go down there, have fun!

A friend and I are heading to Albuquerque this weekend to skate and for the record show on sunday. We were wondering if anybody could provide a map or directions to the some of the ditches. I'm looking to leave some skin in New Mexico.
A good local skate shop to go to would be cool too.

To The Webmaster: Dude, this site absolutely rocks. Thank you for giving us all a way to connect (or in my case, reconnect) to the downhill skating boarding universal community. This site is absolutely the best for getting information, gaining motivation, and just vibing with the flow. I tend to get carried away when I am typing a post. Any hopes that a spell check/grammer check program could be added for those of us who just totally go to fast and are complete idiots?
Thanks for a great site! Roll on Bro's and Sista's! Roll on, Roll on! SCHOOL'S OUT

Over the next day or so we'll be changing to a new DNS server. This could temporarily disrupt your ability to access Ncdsa.com. Please bear with us should our service become unavailable.
Within the next 30-60 days we will be relocating our web server to a new, better data center in Santa Clara, CA. The new location will provide us with better and cleaner bandwidth with fewer outages due to hacker attacks on our ISP's network.

Hi All - I just tried skateboarding two weeks ago and I'm hooked. Already made my purchases of deck, trucks, wheels...etc. Wondering if there are any groups that skate in Connecticut (Fairfield area)? Would really like to skate with others since I'm brand spankin' new to this. Drop me an email.

hey hugh - i need your advice.
I am setting up a Curve Swift 40 for a 7 mile push race around cental park in NYC.
Any advice on setting up this board for "commuter skating"?
Also, I am interested in the giant power paw 78mm aluminators that you reviewed on your site a while back. I am thinking of using some Nicotine Prototypes (78mm, 78a, large aluminum hub) that look exactly like the wheels you reviewed, except red urethane instead of yellow. Can you tell me anything more about the ones you reviewed?
And you mentioned some special "commuter skating" techniques and equipment considerations on the wheel forum. Can you post more details here or even better e mail me with your equipment tips and advice as well as your skating technique tips and advice? Thank you, and I hope all is going well for you!
Still waiting to read more about bw2 and the review of the swift 42... I know there is never enough time in a day for hobbies and toys, oh well. When you get to it...

ISP information is now available via a clickable link on each post made after July 26, 2004. This clickable link displays the country of origin of each IP address. Clicking the country name reveals more information about the ISP.
This should put an end to impersonation games as well as shed some much needed light on the pseudonymed posters that certain forums seem to attract.
