Holy sht ,that board is cool. But while wading through the "vintage dogtown" stickers listings remembered the real original stickers that i had,as in past tense,no longer have,no they were really cool, particularly the P.C.

Can someone please email me a scan of a Dogtown sticker that has the "SKATES" banner below the cross. I am in the process of restoring an old Bigfoot and the pics I download from the Wes page are not quite clear enough to get an accurate go-by. When is MicroSoft going to step up and include a Dogtown font in their software. Thanks!

Question; Are the black panther wheels (65mmx45mm) the same durometer as the red ones? Is there a difference besides color? I figure that if anyone can answer this, you guys could :) thanks in advance, stevem

I looked at the wheels again, it says "Omni-Comp" on top and "2" below, so I guess I didn't have the nomenclature exactly right in previous post. Anyone ever heard of these wheels? Who made them?

Once again glancing through an old skateboarder mag, looking for longboards,do 36 inch Kanoa Mahogany' count? and Sims Oak kicks were it. 44 inch taperkicks were rare as hell and probabely not made very often long sims oak boards. Old longboards?see Homemade.

Mike-D,hey both cone sets are good! I use both for myself, and some talented others, and mix them up through the course(if we've got enough cones). The hard thing is to have the offset cones match the rhythym of your left-or-right turns.Enter on the wrong side, and a challenging course becomes a cakewalk.I use colored chalk(washable, playground stuff)to mark out the cone's placement(circle the cone's base)and the "lanes"(simple lines or arrows)you want for a given offset or chicane. On twisty areas, ones where we've got room to set up a course that crosses the road/hill,I'll use the pitch changes to make the run a bit beefier. With just straight courses,I'll mix up the spacing,or "stretch" it for a steeper pitch, just see if anyone is paying attention.Remember too that with chalk, you can set a run with one color, run it,and make any changes in a different color, run it,and make comparisons as to feels best.

hi um the slalom section has too many pictures and stuff and it wont load on my computer, but i noticed that lots of the guys i saw that had posts there also had em here. so ill post this here. well, im kind of a green horn to slaloming (go easy on me, im only 14) and i was wondering, with the courses i make, should cones be staggered or straight? ive seen them both ways and i want to know which is more preferable. me and my friends have little neighborhood races and we are in a constant argument about this........any help is appreciated. thanks.

at the local skatepark yesterday i see an old dude walking in with a vintage deck
i strike up a conversation and get to take a close look at the fibreflex bowlrider (in GREAT condition!) bennet pros and logan wheels
upon informing him of the recent sales prices of such decks he takes it back out to his car and returns with a santa cruz longboard
i hand him a complimentary copy (thanks glen) of international longboarder and welcome another into the fold

Paul D,
Your brother did indeed score! I had a tough time tracking down mid-tracks myself... felt fortunate that I found them at $60 US for a set in good condition!
Good old stuff is getting harder and harder to find at reasonalbe prices... I hit the yards sales and thrift shops as often as I can. Pickins are mighty slim down here too! HR

Thanks Hugh, I sort of figured along the same lines as you discribed. From the stuff I have you couldn't call me a collector. But,I'm starting to look for stuff. It's not easy finding stuff around here though. And I just don't have the "disposable income" to shop on the net.I do have family and friends on the look out for me at garage sales and such.My brother scored big for me with 3 bucks once. He got a WRS deck, very good mid-tracks with G&S (yandalls , I think that's what they are) PLUS unused YO-YO pros. Not bad for 3 canadian dollars!

only two wheels, each wheel is a roller, around 4 inches wide, the "fender" is the hanger and pivots on the baseplate,i think they used two springs torsionally,,,,,one twists tight one untwists,no adjustability, and i don't think they ever got to offer different spring sets. That picture was particularly cool to zoom in and enhance(the truck).

How about Josh Swindle? I remember he was jailed in Mexico for not having enough bribe money for the police among other things, his parents made a big deal and got him out, then he went to jail here in the states on an unrelated charge. Is he born-again yet? I know Gator is, by the letters he's written to Thrasher from the slammer.

Christian was just transferred from Rialto to Hawaii and then back to Rialto. Eddie Elguera has been visiting Christian in jail. Eddie is a youth pastor, that's right "Pastor El Gato", out in the Redlands/Rialto area, and has been visiting Christian once a week. They originally thought that he was going to get out soon, but now it's looking like 10 years. Drug Trafficing is a big time offense. Pray for Jay and Christian

Paul D,
Pricing vintage gear is tough at best... especially sight unseen. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when trying to place value on objects.
The first is that something is only worth what the market will bear. If a major recession hits, prices on all this vintage skate gear will drop.
Second is that depending upon what condition your stuff is will determine "who" will be interested.
Lets consider wheels. Brand new looking vintage wheels will command a higher price because someone who may be putting together a "museum quality" set up will only buy "perfect" wheels. The availability of "perfect" wheels will be much, much lower than those that are in "ok" shape. Resulting in a premium price being required for the less available product.
Perfect old wheels are rare and worthy of putting on an old deck and maybe even riding occasionally.
Old wheels that are worn are of little value to someone making up a bitchen "wall hanger"... their value as riding wheels is low. The old wheels don't ride as nicely as new ones.
Those are some of the reasons that led me to state the figures that I did on the wheels. I am no expert at this stuff... I am just some guy who posts here on the NCDSA, that's all! HR

Good condition OJ's for 40 bucks, okay,I can accept that (frankly, as you can see, I'm clued out when it comes to pricing). But what then of that guy I mentioned bellow with the really new looking old stuff. He had a brand new set of OJ's priced at 210 bucks! What's up with that! I actually have the same set, unused (discolored) also!

I'd think the Santa Cruz fiberglass/wood deck would be worth more than $20, at least I would pay more than that. I'm just guessing, but I would think that just the deck in decent condition would be at least $60. But as the old saying goes, the value is whatever someone is willing to pay.
