tom t: "grommit" is a term we use in New Zealand to refer to those within the surf/skate culture who are of pre-adolescent age. The term is usually used in an affectionately derogatory sense, however not neccessarity. For example, in surf competitions we might have a "Grommit league" event. This is equivalent to the term "gremmy", used in the USA.
