Stop by and see us for a test drive at the St. George UT. GRAVITY EVENT this weekend. Lots of combos to test from 36" to 60". Check out the new hydraulic dampened system at the booth.

Tracker kingpin removal.

I used to use those plastic Tracker trucks "back in the day". The baseplates were easy to modify, I used a regular electric drill to drill away material from the bottom of the baseplate until the kingpin has room to slide out, then hammer it out, replace with new one. I still have the ones I used, plus a bunch of baseplates that people gave me.

I couldn't do this "back in the day" but i cleaned out a nasty broken stud fairly simply,a local machinist could do it easy, and resurrect a collectable,i made a delrin pivot for said truck at the same time. That was on my wedge tail project,Check Hugh' site.

I personally really like your decks... I would however, really like to see them available naked... Lots of us have lots of wheels and trucks! At least give it some thought... HR

Regarding Tracker Fulls and Mids:
You can purchase them right now, from Tracker. I use Fulls for freestyle, and I just purchased 5 sets.
They are also making the Mid-Track. Not sure if the Half is available.
These trucks have a Tracker B-2 baseplate. Much lighter than the original tracker bases, and have removable/replaceabele kingpins.

The old Trackers had the kingpins molded into the baseplates - you couldn't remove the kingpins if they broke. I hope they don't do that again. Also, do you think they'll make the "gnarly" pivot or the old small kind? I never broke a pivot, but I've got to think they did that for a reason. For those needing small pivot cups, I'm sure you can make them out of a nylon spacer, which you can find at most hardware stores. I know Home Depot carries them.

DEPLO Skateboards

Hey, I happen to like this forum, just for the opportunity to have a place to post any new developments with Deplo. To avoid any confusion or questions or maybe the unneccessary FLAME, I'll just spew my overview of Deplo now. It's my expression of what skateboarding was to ME as I grew up skateboarding (since about 1974). Longboards were always around until '94 or so, I suddenly noticed that no longboards were up on our walls (Go Skate) and nobody was producing anything. Hey, how about doing it myself and making my own shapes which work best for my own type of longboarding style? Hey, other people might like them too! So, I made up the Original Cruiser (42"X 9" X 29.5" WB). This board handles a bunch of styles..ie, surfstyle, carving, 7-11 runs, and out-of-gas-transpo (hence the VW bus graphic on the topdeck). Next came the Calamari (40" X 9.25" X 29.5" WB). This deck ROCKS if the rider loves to power turns and skate with a GS style...which is ME all around. What makes my little company different than the rest that came up at the same time is that I SKATE and these are MY SHAPES developed from MY EXPERIENCE over the last 25+years. I don't have $30-$40,000 invested, and I don't cut any corners to make a bigger profit (cheap trucks and wheels). I simply want to make killer boards that work as good as anything else out there for similar uses. Now, the boards are available only as completes with the trucks and wheels I have found to be the BEST for my shapes. These are currently the Randal RII (180mm) truck and Power Paw wheels. This setup is KILLER and works very well.
Coming in May, the Deplo decks will be produced on a CNC table. I still have to do all the shape digitizing by hand, but the boards will all come out with nice clean lines, and possibly have wheel wells added with no extra work. When these are ready, you will see them on the website (which doesn't get much of my attention right now due to creating websites for other clients). But I hope all of you interested in a grass roots HARD-CORE skater owned company will like what I have produced up to this point. After all, it's all about style and just skating around on really fun boards.
See you when I see you, huh?

shnitzel- I got an email from Jim Ziemlanski about the RIII proto. He says he works with you, I just want to verify that he's the right guy to send $$ to for the board. Can't be too careful with these internet transactions, ya know. If you post an all-clear here, my money order will be on the way.

I'd buy a few sets of each, and the Extrack, and Fulltrack are still very marketable to riders who skate on skinnier boards and want to turn, not only grind. What I really need is the old smaller pivot cups(hard, please)and some copers to fit my Fulltracks(freestyle ain't dead yet).Consider me in for six pair of trucks, minimum.

"The better skaters will create a demand for better equipment, and the better manufacturers will fill it. As a reference point, it would be interesting to see some of these skateboard manufacturers forced into a 40 m.p.h. run on their own equipment—this would really separate the men from the boys" glen friedman.
