Adam, if you are going to crack down on this forum like you say you are, then please crack down on all the other forums, you HAD a longstanding policy that vendors were not allowed to huck their goods on other forums, only the Vendors forum, but yet, you let Chris Chaput run amuck around here on the Bearing, Wheels, Downhill, Slalom forums.
PLEASE! If you are trying to be fair, then make it fair to everybody.

I have been pouring bushings and wheels by hand for a couple months now, and finally, the bushings are ready for the public. Under the name of VENOM BUSHINGS They feature an extremely high rebound similar to Tracker Stimulators and several irrestistable colors and shapes. They are Blue (78a) and Orange (85a). The colors are fully flourescent and glow brilliantly in natural light and especially under a black light.
Shapes are: Big Barrel, Stim, Stepped Big barrel, and khiro-sized barrel. All shapes feature a "Spherical Bearing Dish that is specially designed to add better turning to precision trucks.
These Bushings can be found under the feet of World Champions, Martin Reaves and Joe Mclaren, as well as Dubester (70+ mph 5 days a week) and Kevin "K-rimes" Reimer. They have been described by the above as "Super Spring" "Best bushings I've every Ridden" and, "These things Pawn!"
In addition to traditional type bushings, I have also been experimenting with "Dual Duro" Technology. Soft on top, hard on the bottom. These create a riding experience that you must feel to believe!
Anyway, They are officially on sale Saturday night at Midnight. They will Be $6 a bushing for standard ones, $8 for Dual Duros. Send any orders or questions to VenomBushings@Gmail.com. I'll give you an invoice and a paypal address.

Wow.. the Red Asterisk.. that's sure a blast from the past! Which reminds me that it's never easy moderating a site like this one and that you can't make all the people happy all the time. I'm going to try this policy for a while and see how it flies. If it ends up sucking I'll change it.
Called out by gOAd.. that's quite an honor and I'm flattered beyond words!

Adam,
you wrote: "But I never foresaw that some vendors would seize upon this forum as a place to repeatedly post their display ads, many linking back to their e-commerce Web sites just as our banner ads do. So policy evolves."
Instead of bringing a draconian and quite frankly misguided approach(ie using nuclear bomb to squash an ant) you could just keep things ticking by disallowing folks "to repeatedly post their display ads, linking back to their e-commerce websites."
By doing this, you still keep the vendors corner filled with new ideas and concepts and you keep things fairly wide open...which is why people enjoy the internet.
I strongly urge you to reconsider this move and develop a better policy to deal with this "issue". Again, I think it might be more than tempest in a teapot since the numbers aren't that huge.
Bottom line, by limiting folks on what they can post I don't believe it's a positive step forward for your site or for skateboarding.

I think that new stuff and talking and sharing is what this site is here for. Not the companys looking for a way not to pay when they can pay. The new inventers and the rider looking for new things is the reason for the season ! Me looking in from the outside as a rider love seeing new wheels, trucks, board, and ideas. Its the companys that can pay for adds that dont because they dont have to, thats not right for a site that does this because it is good as well as the passion for skateboarding ! Hell Adam is not looking to suck people dry or stop NCDSA after so many great years and he knows it is us that keeps this alive.

disingenous: lacking in frankness, candor, or sincerity; falsely or hypocritically ingenuous; insincere: Her excuse was rather disingenuous. sorry Adam, I apologize if this is what you thought I came off as... my question, like mostly everything I am involved with is was meant to be OPEN ENDED... I am completely aware of some folks posting their products here without kicking in some $$$ to keep NCDSA afloat...they obviously see the value in the site (otherwise, they wouldn't post) but they need to be converted to paying advertisers. If they don't convert, well, that's the way the cookie crumbles...welcome to publishing. The fact is that this site through its vendors corner offered unlimited posts for vendors. You've obviously got expenses to cover, but in the last 30 days, you've hit about 33 posts with this forum. I don't see that as being overwhelmed and being taken advantaged of. The internet is lots of things to lots of people...but the one common thread is openness and the concept of everything is unlimited...unlike a 100 page magazine, it's a infinite medium. I think it's more about the optics vs. reality.

i guarantee this will hurt this site more than help it..... ah well... and BTW, im not even a vendor!!! so why should i care???? cause this was an interesting spot to find new products, new products by people who sunk all their money into development and dont have an advetizing plan / budjet... and again, i am not a vendor.. i just liked this spot for checking out new stuff!!!
and 1 page for "vending" amongst about 100 other pages that get seen with "paid" advertizing aaalllll over the rest of ncdsa....
whats going to happen???? youll just be deleting post after post out of the other forums... like you did before "vendors corner"...
this is a website, costs are very minimal... how do i know??? cause i run one myself...

Adam, I know you have a page outlining ALL your advertisers, "our advertsiers" but I just hope people dont forget that advertisers on other than the 'Main' slalom forum like Octane arnt who your aiming things at?
Just want to make it clear, as a supporter of NCDSA for quite a while now,and the ONLY place we pay for advertising on-line.
Not only are your rates realistic, but your donation of banner space for the various longskate charity rides, and provision of geographic area forums and organisation forums is excellent.

Michael,
Coming from someone who feeds his family with money from skateboard advertising I find your question somewhat disingenuous. No, Ncdsa.com has never produced anywhere near that kind of revenue but the site does have ongoing expenses that must be covered, and it does have supporters, namely vendors who benefit from such a site and see fit to pay to advertise (our rates are the lowest in the industry from what I've been told).
Yes.. this policy is targeted at a few select vendors who have decided that all take and no give is an acceptable deal. I needn't name names as it should be obvious to all who follow this forum. Vendor's Corner was initially created to stop shilling in the various reviews forums and to provide one single place on Ncdsa.com "..where vendors can communicate with riders to discuss products. Riders, tell vendors what you've always wanted!" as is published on the Posting Guidelines page.
But I never foresaw that some vendors would seize upon this forum as a place to repeatedly post their display ads, many linking back to their e-commerce Web sites just as our banner ads do. So policy evolves. p.s. One longtime advertiser has already emailed to thank me for leveling the playing field.

it is obvious that any bigger homepage is in demand of cash to keep it going. some are funded by members such as ss.com others maybe not. if it is just for the support of the site, then a different approach to the desired subject might be valuable, adam. don't get me wrong,i understand what you want to say,but maybe do it in a different way then? sxhort e-mails to the folks you are targetting at f.e.

shnizel, this was meant to be Vendor's corner, not free advertisement corner.
I been to other forums where no advertising of any kind in the forum is allowed. If you want to advertise, you simply pay for ad space.
