Hey Adam,
I think you screwed up, but it's your website and you have always shown your power to delete posts you don't like.
I thought it was wise to have a single place to put all the vendor's self-promoting posts. Some interesting discussions have been born here over the years.
I suggest you change the name of this forum to "Advertiser's Corner" since it is no longer open to Vendors (more than once a year), just your very small group of advertisers.
> On 1/4/2008 Adam wrote in from United States (198.144.nnn.nnn) > Vendor's Corner was initially created to stop shilling in the various > reviews forums and to provide one single place on Ncdsa.com "..where > vendors can communicate with riders to discuss products. Riders, tell > vendors what you've always wanted!" as is published on the Posting > Guidelines page.
I think both of these needs are still useful, but now missing on NCDSA...
When I look at the "Our Advertisers" link, I see the following "manufacturers": Khiro Seismic Pro-Desig ned Pleasure Tool
I also see the following "online merchants": Daddie's Octane Solid Skate
That's a small piece of the skateboard universe...
One question: What's to stop Octane/Daddie's/Solid Skate from running "ad posts" for Pavel/Roe/Skaterbuilt/PPS/Sk8Kings/Radikal/GOG/Be nnett/etc?
Seems like the posting power could be shifted over to the 3 online merchants that are also your advertisers...

"At the same time I'm sure Adam deserves something for making a place for all of us to come to on the internet."
The value of this website is its users. Without them, there would just be some cheap server account somewhere running this 15 year old forum software. The owner/renter of that stuff charges advertisers to post here. But the advertisers wouldn't post here if it weren't for the number of users. What's responsible for the number of users? The users themselves, being so interesting, and entertaining and educational. In other words, the users (including skaterbuilt!) are like actors on a tv show doing something interesting to bring in eyeballs so the show owner can sell advertising; except actors usually get paid.
If all I get to see in this topic is posts from advertisers, there is no need to come here. I can just look at their ads. This forum used to be interesting because of the breadth of products showcased briefly by various companies, including those that can't afford to advertise. Not any more I guess.

is a good thing we at pavel also wanted to introduce the "wheel bath" to the public one year ago.it comes with a mild detergent soap and a bubblybubble container. also we had a necessity pack which included high gloss polish for the trucks and a 1/2 ton bearing cleaning unit. bottom line:cleaning your wheels is good, cleaning your teeth=priceless

Davo, I think you are confusing pre- and post-Jan 1, 2008 postings because no vendors that I'm aware of have been allowed to abuse the new policy.
As far as vendors posting images here for discussion, as long as they don't seem to be self-serving and commercial in nature I don't mind it. A Q&A session about a prototype would be fine. An unveiling or announcement or promotion of a new product would not be fine as that constitutes advertising.
I regret that you were unable to interpret my emailed message or included link (http://www.ncdsa.com/posting.asp#vc).

Your initial email exchange as you call it was VAGUE to say the least-and said nothing about my ncdsa vendor policy violations-AND MY POSTS didn't have any links attached (even though I have given you a FREE link on SkaterBuilt for over 5 years). Your responses said nothing from you-but, had links for me to read about ncdsa posting policies. Vague to say the least. So, I did not know what the problem was-as I was unaware of your recent vendor posting policy changes. So, I wondered why you deleted my vendor post-and thought that maybe it was too large of a jpg...so, after shrinking it, I re-posted. Then you took it down again! I then took it to the decks forum for discussion purposes-and you nuked it yet again! So, I spoke with Maysey (since he's helped to test and develop our new decks) and we figured it would be ok to post on his Q&A forum-and you nuked it AGAIN! You have let others (who will remain unamed) absolutely abuse every forum on ncdsa with their ads, smack talk, and continual bantering with your readers. I have no problem with the fact that you feel like too many vendors are pimping on here without showing any support. I'll speak for myself and say that SkaterBuilt has supported and sponsored many events (large and small)over the past 5+ years...just ask a few of the race organizers on here and you'll see. However, I DO have a problem with the way in which you handled this situation...very NAZI-like and uncool. Instead of deleting my posts without any explanation-you should have communicated-like human beings do. What you did shows your poor jugdement, bad business skills, and lack of goodwill whatsoever. I have new designs that Maysey and my crew have been testing-and we would like to share our findings and would like to discuss results and hear other slalom riders' opinions...like everyone else on here gets to do. Adam, all you needed to do was openly answer my questions instead of being a power-tripper...I would have ablidged without a problem....and none of this would've happened. I still believe your changes WILL hurt ncdsa and it's general morale. So, let me ask you this: If I post other pix of our decks here for the purposes of discussion-Are you going to nuke them too and not allow us the feedom that everyone else has? If not, then you might as well delete the Q&A With Slalom Pro Mike Maysey forum-and then you'll be rid of us-and we'll be on our way to the other site as you've called it. Dave Hegstrom-SkaterBuilt Please respond.

VENDOR CORNER RANT

Davo,
When it seemed as though you were intent on posting display ad after display ad this afternoon following our initial email exchange I set our server to hold your posts for moderator review prior to publication. That ban has been lifted.
I've got no problem with you discussing Ncdsa's new Vendor's Corner policy and have published your recent Rant post to prove it.
Please read my "Michael is anxious" post from Vendor's Corner from 1/4/2008 to learn how the grass grows on my side of the fence. Then consider how paid advertisers might interpret the new policy, as well as how they might interpret Skaterbuilt.com's repeated display ad freeloading. If you're unclear on who these advertisers are check the Our Advertisers link that appears on every page.
To answer some of your concerns, the policy was posted to Ncdsa.com's Posting Guidelines in late Dec 2007. Not wanting to blindside anyone I also made a special announcement in the Vendors Corner "VC policy update" on 12/31/2007 to alert people to the change. A lively debate ensued as you have now seen. I even posted the permalink, "Attn: Vendors! New posting policy in effect." at the top-right of the forum for vendors who might have missed all of that. So you were notified in many ways.
About not contacting you about deleting your posts.. in actuality I did, via email, on Friday, February 29, 2008 12:47 PM PST. That was a courtesy that most Web sites wouldn't have even bothered with.
As far as how to correctly participate, Ncdsa.com does not permit commercial posts in forums other that Buy-Sell-Trade and Vendor's Corner, and Vendor's Corner has strict limits. Much of this is covered in Ncdsa's Posting Guidelines and all is subject to final moderator review and interpretation.

The New Controversy

Hmmm, Just my 2 Cents on the vender posting policy: I don't know what the policy is exactly but I like to look in and see what everyone is making/offering.
I agree that helping out the "small guys" (who also make the best equipment, and have the most to offer and the most to lose since they don't have big profit margins and marketing directors and such) is in everyone's interest here. At the same time I'm sure Adam deserves something for making a place for all of us to come to on the internet.
I don't want to take sides but as a race organizer Adam has been good to me and as a customer Hegstrom has been good to me, and even though Chaput has been annoying on occasion, he's been overall good to me except for NOT MAKING HIGHLY ELASTIC/REBOUNDING BUSHINGS for public access/purchase to replace the venerable Tracker Stimulator(a moment of silence please). Hmm, Gezmer has been pretty good to me too, maybe he'll make those aforementioned bushings?
OK, I'm getting off topic. Schlater-P

VENDOR CORNER RANT- The Vendor's Corner is for advertising...not discussion...Adam-what is your problem pal? We (SkaterBuilt and the slalom skateboard community) are now unable to discuss our new shapes, designs, and offerings to slalom skateboarding because you want your cut...of very little-if anything that we make. I am so disgusted by your deletion of my posts and general power-tripping that you have just screwed yourself and ncdsa from our further participation. I knew nothing about any of this...and was never emailed regarding your new prices for sponsorship. You never contacted me about any of this...you just deleted my posts without explanation. Poor business practice-especially if you want my sponsorship dollars. Just who do you think you are Adam? Do you realize that you just deleted skateboard decks that slalom ace Mike Maysey has been helping to develop-and don't you have a Mike Maysey discussion forum? Discussion? Shouldn't Mike get a chance to discuss the merits of his new findings? Do you realize that slalomskateboarder.com gives each company a FREE forum to do as and discuss whatever they wish? I suggest you do something about your NEW B.S. Vendor policy Adam-that you so vaguely clued me in on-and you're gonna tell me that all these other pimpers and small vendors pay you money to pimp and discuss their respective skateboard designs? B.S. Total B.S. Were are all their banners and ads on ncdsa? Just who actually does sponsor ncdsa? Let me know how much it would be to pimp and discuss freely-as many have done in the past... I really don't see very many slalom co.'s kicking you down the bucks that they don't have...don't delete my posts without letting me know how to correctly participate. I really thought ncdsa was a pretty cool place to discuss designs, plan events, post new products, etc...but, now that your not-so-humble webmaster wants his cut from the little grassroot co's...THE LOVE IS ALL GONE FOLKS. You should have just contacted me about this situation and/or just sent me your sponsorship fee schedules. Please refer to Shnitzel's Vendor's Corner post on 1/4/08. This is only going to hurt your readers-as ncdsa will no longer be a cool place to find out about all the newest and latest slalom gear. SAD fact. This is a very hard time for small grassroot co's who whole-heartedly support both local and global slalom scenes by sponsoring events, riders, and giveaways worldwide. I have always supported ncdsa-especially through the link on my website (now de-activated) which has directed traffic here for years. SkaterBuilt has never abused ncdsa in any way, shape, or form...this isn't because of Vendor Forum abuse-it's because Adam wants his piece of my very-thin slice of pie. Poor form. I suggest you come correct Adam-or you'll be seen as just another greedy, money-grubbing skateboard forum webmaster...it's catching on... End Of Rant. Dave Hegstrom-SkaterBuilt p.s. Why did you ban me from posting here and why wasn't it explained? p.p.s. If you would like me to re-activate the ncdsa banner ad/link on the SkaterBuilt website-feel free to contact me directly for my current ad rates.

hello FREAKS all over the EARTH
this new german product is a aerodynamic subsidiary, I cant label it a Helmet ............ it is not legally allowed.
the protection of my product will be better than any hang glider or other aerodynamic product in the international trade.
I m skateboarding since more than 30 years and do downhillskateboarding since 99.
with my good friends luis lins and andreas donhauser, a sculptor, we started developing this product in winter 2007.
after many essays and prototypes we can provide now the risch aerohelmets.
every owner has to sign a contract that this product is only for use as aerodynamic subsidiary.
All this products have a saf foam ( middle soft ) inside, the foam does have a memory effect. the foam is minimum 2,5 cm / 6 inch thick !
the foam allows me that one size fitts all , every customer will get some extra foam if it does'nt fitt.
the foam is covered with a breathable 3 D mash.
the internal helmet is fixed with a velcro fastener.
the visor is anti fog and anti scratch coated.
the visor is form-locking and fixed from the inside with a Velcro fastener and fixed around with a curve tape.
the helmets have all 4 layers of fiberglass, each layer 293 g/qm
the outer helmets ( only the light speed and doris day ), have 2 layers of fiberglass, that means in a crash they are flexibel !
the breech is a german product and guaranteeing tensile strength, the chin strap is as well covered with the 3 D mash ( german product ).
the price for the helmet is a ready mounted and fixed. the helmet comes with a filler coat ( that means ready to paint for a painter ).
I can do the painting, its 120€ extra( every colour, I only need the colour # )
the helmet is handmade, that means small production differences .
model nr. 1 " wave " is 420,- €
model nr. 2 " light speed " 530,- € , with internal helmet. no breakaway system !
model nr 3 " doris day " 580,- €, with internal helmet. no breakaway system ! pictures comming 12th of march 2008.
all the 3 models are for sale at the end of march, delivery time will be 3 weeks.
more models comming ............. ask for custom product with your concept, maybe you have a brilliant idea or a idea for improvement.
