I met pope on the first day of the casper classic. That dude has some sweet tricks. Really cool guy too. Sk8mecca I don't know what you mean by "got ripped the judging the first day of the casper classic (didn't win, but definately didn't deserve last). I didn't go the 2nd day but I did go the third day. I looking forward to seeing pope skate again but was dissapointed not to him there on the third day. That guy does some sick hand stand variations. I've never seen anyone else do! Anyway, the casper classic was awesome, props to casper and his whole staff!! I can tell they put a lot of time, energy, and money into it making it all happen and having fun while doing it. Not only did they do it for skateboarding, but for FREESTYLE SKATEBOARDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't check this particular forum often, but I see and hear from many involved. Word has it Mr. Popeflip got ripped on the judging the first day of the Casper Classic (didn't win but definitly didn't deserve last). Too bad he did the right thing and chose not to attend the second day. Good for him, when technique and style are not appreciated, the wise man steps back. He would have killed the field the next day in the spinning contest. He was spinning double the winning number the day he was there (ie on the same surface. Pope's got style, technique, and heart. Judges better wake up-you lost some credibility on this one.

Greetings!
The L.A. Inner-City Games is this weekend, Friday the 8th, Saturday the 9th, and Sunday the 10th. This is a cool event with a lot of activities, beside just skateboarding, geared for the kids in the inner city areas of L.A. Should be a big turn out with lots of media coverage.
This is a WFSA event hosted by Hollywood Sports Park in Bellflower and sponsored by the X-Games.
We still need staffing volunteers to help with morning registration, 10:00am to Noon, and contest result tabulation on any or all of the three days. If you are interested in being a part of the event, please call me at 805-884-1888,
Thank you, Bob Staton President WFSA

Hello everyone, I know its been awhile but I thought I would let you know that the Nike Team is going West for the final leg of thier tour. The reason I know this is I demoed with them on the last East coast stop of their tour in CT. at the Skate Lair Skate Shop and it was a good time. I was working the East Coast leg of the Core Tour (which I skated at as well) and the guys from Bodega said come with us to do the demo the next day so I was like okay, not kmowing what or who to expect. Apparently the Nike rep that is with the team is a good friend of Don Brown, and seemed interested that there where people still Freestyling. What better way to expose Freestyle and give some of the people behind the scences something to talk about and all you have to do is show up and skate..So who was there you ask? Gino Iannuchi, Reese Forbes, Daniel Shimizu,Todd Jordan, Danny Supa, Richard Mulder, and Chet Childress along with some of the Bodega guys: Oscar Wagonbuchler, Frank Mare, yours truly A.J. Kohn, and our filmer Pheo. Afterwards the Nike team and Bodega went out to eat at this really good Italian place shared stories and chilled out, a perfect way to end a good demo. Thanks goes out to the Nike guys for letting us demo with them and for picking up the tab. Muchas Gracias to our new friends. Late A.J. "Phlly Connection Representin"

Dear Dragoo,
I think the president of your fan club is at the chics contest watching them bend their legs, do massive airs and grind the coping. good thing we don't freestyle, most ballet dancers are chics.

Wrong again, Lyn-z is still 13 years old. If you can roll in on a 25 foot rollin Air a 12 foot platform land it and roll away, I'll be quite. If you can't you be quite. Girls rule.

Hi folks,
the GFSA crew has been working on this event for quite some time now and the flyer is just about to be printed. Bernhard Kuempel did a great job so far, and from the past two year's experiences you can expect a well organized contest. Info can be found on www.freestyle-skateboarding.de website. You can sign up there and see who has already signed up.

Wit, you ripped in your runs! I hope you can make it to the ASR show in San Diego in Sept. for the WFSA California State Flatland Freestyle Championship 2003. I will need judges, lawyers, money, etc. to assist in the event.
There will be, among other things, a Longboard Contest, and a Frank Hill/Revolver Skateboards Highest Ollie Contest.

Check this out:
No Cal Flatland Jam series regulars bring home the Casper Classic U.S. Championship gold!
Manual "the Man" Rodriguez, the pride of Napa, is your new ( like when the hell was the last one?) United States Flatland Freestyle Skateboard Champion in the un sponsored Am Division. He won with those long controlled space walks and a few great combinations.
Hanging in there at 4th place (in the same division as Manual), the day after his 60th birthday, is steelwheel Bob. Hey! at least I didn't come in last!
Nils "Da Frog" Hanson also captures a first place win to become the United States Flatland Freestyle Skateboard Champion in the unsponsored Am 13-15 division. Nils skated unopposed but would have been a threat to anyone in his age group with tricks like a Primo slide, a 50/50 540 flip, and rail to rail flips. Nils had the longest Primo slide of any contestant Am or Pro, and he pulls it up one footed occasionally. He will probably be the man to beat next year in his division at the US Championships, but you can take a shot at him in San Diego at the WFSA California State Flatland Freestyle Championships this Sept. Nils also finished 3rd in the High Jump Open behind a few adult pros. Nils will be bringing the high jump bar to Rengsdorff Park next month.
A little Staton family trivia: We are now the first and only three generation freestyle skateboard champions in skateboarding history.
Robert Staton (son), Oceanside, 1977 at age 7. (Robert is the guy that takes all pics at the No Cal Jams) "steelwheel Bob" Staton (father), Escondido, 1979 at age 34.
Nils "Da Frog" Hanson (grandson), Casper Classic Long Beach, 2003 at age 13

Can you give more details on the runs and leave out the part about the chicks, nobody cares about chicks doing vert, all they do is stick there butt way out and bend their knee's and maybe hit the coping,it's so weak ,who cares about that and leave out high jump and 360's if they cant hit 25,slippery surface my foot, that would make you go faster and spin longer. Dagoo the pro. P.S.what happened to the president of Dagoo fan club?

we've heard about the whole idea about freestylers being queer. well here's a poll to see just what the sexual preferences of freestylers really are. remember these polls are anonymous. honesty would be appreciated. I'm curious to see just how queer, bi or straight freestylers really are....
