If it is not at the same time as the Swiss comp I'll be there.
Anyone one know where the comp is. I've booked tickets to Zurich but I can not find the location on my map of Europe. Do I need to book a car, and where are the hotels.
Turner are now an official spnsor of the event.

Dogtown movie in Brixton..again
On 5/11/2002 mog wrote in from (194.112.nnn.nnn)

Just spoke to my contacts at the Ritzy cinema in Brixton who will be showing "Dogtown and Z-Boys" (again if you missed it last time). Anyone wanna hook up for a slalom session before or after the first showing with maybe another session at stockwell thrown in for good measure.
No confirmed dates yet but it's looking like middle of June.
Not sure if the film will go on general release around the country so this may be a good oppurtunity for us all to hook up without the "pressure" of competition.
As soon as we have dates you guys will be the first to know.
Mog

Dont have a Board?
On 5/11/2002 Michael wrote in from (195.92.nnn.nnn)

Guys (and Gals) dont worry if you don't have a slalom board and would like to give it a go. Where possible a sepearte simple course will be set up just for practice and fun. Give it a go!
I will be happy to lend boards out at competitions. Just ask for Michael. We will also be offering a 'tuning' service for all the products we stock. You need bits, a squirt of oil, try softer bushings, even try a set of wheels out, youve got it. Just ask!

Clingfilm:re eastbourne
On 5/10/2002 Nick wrote in from (212.135.nnn.nnn)

Clingfilm when i say freestyle i don't mean jumps and stuff cause my boards to long to ollie but i mean things like 180 and 360 slides, board walking, switching board through 180. And i live in Eastbourne so i could come. But i would do slalom but i don't have a slalom board and like wise with downhill my sector nine suffers from speed woble so i can't enter any other events.

Events
On 5/10/2002 Clingfilm wrote in from (195.195.nnn.nnn)

We used to run a frestyle event at Brands. Most locations can do this. I am sure if there is enough interest then we can do it again. Let me know.

Calendar address:
qube2.lcp.linst.ac.uk/skate
I'll get the domain sorted soon. Note no WWW before.

John, if you need a place to stay let me know. I plan to catch the 6.00am flight from Gatwick to Switzerland on easyjet (easyjet.com) and back on Sunday night.
I am also not too far from Brands. If more want to come over, and they should, then there is cheap accomodation near me and I'll hire a mini bus to transport us to the event.

freestyle
On 5/10/2002 lush longboardzzzz wrote in from (195.92.nnn.nnn)

freestyle is 100% guaranteed for the Lush Summer Sessions! One session is to be scheduled to coincide with one of the UK Slalom Series races here in Sheffield, date to be announced. Carving, speed bombing, slalom, and freestyle!

In fact if anyone can make it to sheffield for 10.30 TONIGHT then we've got a big bunch of riders out on the streets.

Calender of European racing events.
On 5/10/2002 john gilmour wrote in from (151.204.nnn.nnn)

Clingfilm- can you please repost the calender URL. Mine appears to be incorrect or dead. I'm trying to shoot for Brands and the Swiss comp- though going for the title of longboard at Folly Beach seems to be really absurd for a guy who typically rides with only 16.25 inches inner truck hole to inner truck hole. The Ed Economy has 39" between the trucks. I'd like to see someone run an English slalom with that- Ed used to run 6 foot centers with a 5 foot board.

Brands Hatch
On 5/10/2002 Clingfilm wrote in from (195.195.nnn.nnn)

I will add location details on the calendar, but for now Brands Hatch is south east of London near the M25. Gatwick is the closest airport.
There are cheap hotels in Tonbridge where I live, let me know if you want it, we can all go to the track together then. I will get prices posted over the weekend.Brands Hatch site is:
http://www.octagonmotorsports.com/circuit/circuit.asp?c=1
We will be on Pilgrims drop.
Otherwise if you make your own acommodation then Swanley is the closest station but let us know to get a lift for you from there. The taxis are not all that good.
The site has all the info you require.

Hi all,

just a quick note to let you know that we have confirmed brands hatch for the 8-9th June.

There will be slalom, giant slalom, longboard slalom and maybe some longboard sprint racing. We will produce a pack for all over the weekend but make sure you all keep the date free and make an effort to be there.

On 5/9/2002 clingfilm wrote in from (194.154.nnn.nnn)

Eastbourne is on the south coast of England, between Brighton and Hastings. Almost straight south from London.
Plenty of transport available for those coming from abroad.
