Hi there! Sorry I havent been able to visit the site more, my new job keeps me away from the pc. Just thinking about doing a (GRS Sheffield) Board FestII now the weather is turning nice... You may have heard the last one was a great success, with 150 people watching and riding, Simon Levene, Chris Linford and Chris Hart on hand to show us what its all about and articles in Sidewalk and Adrenaline mags here in the UK... The most coverage slalom has had in the British skate press in a while, I think. If I get some encouragement on the site, Id be up for doing another, primarily outdoor event later in the year. Anyone want to get behind this idea?
Big up to GRS! And all the riders!

Just got some info about PSC Parallel Slalom Contest Grueningen/Switzerland. My comments are in brackets, but may not be true.
The Slalom Contest is on Sunday 23 June 2002. And it begins at 11.00 am. The distance is 80 meters and it’s not a hill it’s a street. It is a Parallel Slalom (I am not sure if straight or staggered yet), that means two riders start at the same time (I think this is qualifying). The fastest 16 riders will get into the final round. In the final races is the KO-System (first past the post).
At the end the best and fastest will stay on the top.
When I get more, how to get there it may be worth going to. It only clashes with the world longboard championship in north carolina.
try the web site, in English soon http://www.pscontest.ch It can take a while to load.

Hey Paul, hope my video skills were acceptable. I can't imagine how much faster you would've been without the jetlag. I'm trying to make it to Brands Hatch. Someone's gotta represent the US in best crash.

If there was slalom there also, like skatenstone I would be there but I know too little about the event to feel that I can take one of the few weekends I am allowed to play for that event.
It is a pain about the FCR series clashing with Brands Hatch. It just goes to show thedifficulties in confirming dates across the Atlantic. Personally I think Brands Hatch will be the best event of the year.

Hi all,
just to let you all know the deal. There is only 2 people at the moment coming from England to Switzerland for this race and it would be great to hit Zurich with a crowd of us.
The flights are only 85 pounds inc tax!
That leaves flight 932 18th may returns flight 931 21st may
We will hit some runs i know in zurich before heading down to the race town. I will take you all to a run just over 4 miles long, mmmmmmmm!!!
If your up for it send me a mail or call me on 0208 478 4222

Paul Skating on Sunday somewhere. Where will you be, we should all get together.
Good to have you back on the right side of the hemisphere.
JG Look forward to seeing you at Brands. I do not live too far from there (20 min drive) There is a cheapish, OK hotel in Tonbridge in an old Inn if any you you guys need somewhere. If there are not many we should be able to find accomadation for you. I'll let you know when I have absolute comfirmatiom of the date. Lee is just about to nail it down. BoardX sounds mad, I look forward to it. Check my calendar for latest dates.

I remember that comp well. We did not try for permission to skate in those days. We ended up there due to the fact that it was raining and we were going to hold a competition at Green Park in London. The event there was impossible so we thought we'd try the subway between South Kensington Tube station and the Science museum. Santa Cruz sponsored the event and loved the underground, 'illegal' aspect to it. I skated it the other week, took the kids to the museum, its still the same, but busy with tourists now.

no dude, that geezer is Martin Knight who boosted all his tricks to the max at southbank in the eighties. I bumped into him last year and he pulled off a couple of his old moves on an old deck.
Yo to the old Southbankers, trying to organize an old skool foto exhibition in the next few months, will keep you posted.

ah ha... just as I thought, dark socks must be worn for boarder X. As for equipment heres an offer: 1st Unsponsored UK entrant to a Swiss Boarder X who would like to use Turner wheels, Avalons or La Costas, i'll flow a set with Oust bearings. All I ask is that you leave them to me in your will, not that its dangerous or anything....

Mat,
there is no restriction on board/trucks use whatever you want.
We suggest using a board between 80-120cm long.
