Props to Palmer for taking that "shoes up" slam, then getting back up to post the winning time on the next run. Nice earned win! Bear and the slalom in one weekend. Nice. Thanks to Timeship (Joe, JC, Wil) for putting on a great race weekend: Bear, Indian School Shuttle, Sunday Slalom (and spontanious $50 down hill. That six man heat looked killer.) Always fun to watch skaters reactions after riding indian school for the first time. Thanks for all the positive support you guys give little James. Joe, I hope you at least gave a t-shirt to the sucka that had to clean out the rental van. Laters

A-Rab, I'm only pokin' fun cuz I couldn't give him grief at the race. I couldn't give you any grief this year, either. And you know I work these pups, not race 'em. It's all "in-good-fun" jiving. As a husband and father, I understand too well how life can rear it's ugly head and throw plans down the toilet. My respect for either of you as skaters is immense. Besides, without David here, I couldn't unveil my new Hackett Action Figure.
David, Will and Casey didn't make it, either. They'll get bagged on personally.

The Bear went away hungry this year; no carnage, no flesh, no blood. Just some solid racing in the face of Nature and the Man. A complaint from a security guard brought the Man in, a conversation with GIJoe and the subsequent change in parking sent him away satisfied. The race went on!
Final Results:
1st Robert Palmer 19.56 2nd George McClellan 19.98 3rd Jim Z 20.30 4th Jeff Budro 20.48 5th Jason Mitchell 20.52 6th Ryan Armendariz 21.12 7th Mike May 21.24 8th Joe Lehm 21.27 9th Mark Jeangerard 21.50 10th Mike Lowrie 22.01 11th Kaylee Tejeda 22.13 12th Chris Miller 22.23 13th Scott Lambright 22.36 13th Paul Domski 22.36 15th Gary Fluitt 22.80 16th Rob McKendry 26.33
Personal props go out to; Flindt and Jim Z for sleeping in a skatepark. McKendry for hitch-hiking from Denver with two boards. Brower Timing System for nearly a hundred glitch-free times. Kebbek, Fatboy, DCDC, Afroman, Sector 9 for throwng down prizes. Mike May for buying me lunch. Some unknown for professionally prepared "safety gear". Tony Luna for aqua fria. Jim Z for the new socks. The kid with Afroman for bomb-dropping the bridge over the Bear. Stubbs for his belly. Every competitor for being ready to run on time and fast. We did 50 runs in 54 minutes. The race was finished and the awards presented before Noon, giving us lots of time to hit the skatepark and then Indian School.
Thank you everyone involved. It was one of the best racedays I've worked.

Yes, let's definitely make sure we set Abe up for running the Bear, I can donate my favorite piece of race gear, a HELMET for our resident Dagger. Please tell Abe that his entry fee covers BOTH events and since we've all seen him run the Bear, I'm looking forward to seeing him try his skills at the Super Slalom on Sunday. Permit is secured, Porta Potty is on order and Cowboy Cody will be in ... Hawaii!

Now Abe can finally earn the title of "El Conquistador del Arroyo Oso" he's deserved since before the new wave of races even started! Abe is the MAN!
No bottled water, huh? How about a doob in my mouth, does that count?
Tell ya what, I'll bring some nice kosher Mogen David blackberry wine, and I'll run it with bottle in hand. I'll even take a swig around that second cone. Full pads though, just like Joe said.
I would think that a just a thong would be more aero than pure nakedness 8^)

They just don't protect you from feeding the Bear. As long as you have your helmet on I don't really care. It seems I spend more than enough time yelling "put your helmet on kook!" I just can't see the sense of yelling "put your clothes on kook!" Tony? Are you in?
