That story appauls me. I'm 18 years old and I could never imagine pulling some bull**** stunt like that. Psssh, when I see a 13yr old and a 9yr old skating I'll give 'em a thumbs up or some sort of encouragement. That's really too bad to hear, but rest assured that things always have a funny way of circling back on people.
What does an 18yr old want with a 13yr olds' shoes anyways?

Ditto what PALMER said.
I have decks, Indys, wheels if he needs them. Most used, but some not so much.
So, you have the license #? Let's find 'em. Shouldn't be so hard.
What a bummer.

Me and the boy will be riding this weekend. This afternoon I'm taking off early to ride IS and maybe Los Altos. Chris, the Bear sounds fun, drop me an email or something.
Here's a good one (or bad one). My 13 year old kid, Andy, was riding around a ditch in Montgomery park (San Mateo & Comanche) on Tuesday, he's on spring break, and my wife works across the street. Anyway, it's around 5pm and he's out there with a kid (9 yrs old) from the neighborhood skating this ditch, there's people all around, soccer practice and what not, anyway, these 4 older kids (16-18)pull up in a car and start hasseling Andy and his little buddy. One of the A-holes grabs Andy's board and tries to ride it and Andy's asking for it back, well they went and knocked him down and stole his shoes and started beating him up, the little kid took off thank god, I guess they finally got their kicks and took off with his shoes and board. Andy was alright, a bit bruised and shaken, someone got the licence number of the car and a report was filed with the cops but we'll never hear anything I'm sure. What the hell is world coming to when teenagers pull s#@! like this?
I got to thank Troy, owner of Duke City Skate shop, for the sweet deal he cut me on a new setup for Andy.

I'm gonna be at Pump Station on the 17th and in CO on the 24rd. If you wanna go the 10th or May 1st, I'm there.
Paul, If you feel like gettin' in some licks at the Bear, call me. I think we'll be out there on Sat or Sun. We'll probly find a way to hit I.S. sometime this weekend as well as some slaloming too. Throw in a few beers and a BBQ at Los Altos, and it might be a perfect weekend!

oops, I meant to say "We'll do one sometime in APRIL for sure." I've got a ditch-buddy flying in from CA on the 16th. Hey Dan, you wanna be around for one of the Rio Bravo Races, that Sunday you're here, the 17th? Otherwise we'll have to do it on the 10th or the 24th. Which would be best for all that plan to attend this month?

I might want to skate, and I'll even bring my cones, but I can't commit, so I'd rather not hold an official race. Besides, I need to get out to another ditch... We'll do one sometime in May for sure.
Call me out if you wanna skate 247-2346.

It seems like all the ditches I find in the Sacramento area are way too small or just plain bad... anyone from the area know of anything, like... downtown perhaps? I know there's a couple SOMEWHERE cause I saw some cats in a BMX Plus magazine riding a gnarly bank in Sacto. Well, some help would be appreciated!

I just wanted to chime in and mention that everyone that came out to last week's race at Rio Bravo Ditch is HARDCORE in my book! I've skated ditches with tail-winds before, but I've never competed head-to-head with tumbleweeds for the inside line on a gate! I took that tumbleweed out though, and drifted around the cone on weed-debris. If we could predict weather like that, I'd suggest having an annual "Dust-Devil Derby at Tumbleweed Gully". We didn't even bother handing out prizes because everyone that showed up was considered a winner!
This last race was how I like them to be. Everyone that showed up was serious about either racing or helping. Zero spectators, just the way I like it. Let's keep up THAT vibe!
Oh, and as for the Ditch Directory: That was unfortunatley deleted from the UNM servers when I graduated. I am planning on ressurecting it in some form by the end of the year maybe? It all depends on spare time, which is sparse lately. But, if you're looking for a place on the internet to search out ditches across the country, you've found it.
