Sunday sounds good to me, CP is great for the number of runs you can do, and hassle free.
The timer was sorted tonight. Tapeswitches are crap, but luckily Maplin do a cheap alarm which is working a treat. Cant wait to try it in anger.

Taking the lad on a low-end ramp trawl of the south coast on Sunday morning. Does anyone know if the ramps at Hampden Park (near the Eastbourne Sainsbury's) are still up, or have they rotted into the ground?
I would go to The Level, but it's full of snarling 14-year olds, smoking draw and sipping Stella etc... heh.

You prob won't be seeing Glenn for a while, when I spoke to his wife on Tuesday he was waiting for the swelling to go down before they put a cast on, they were talking about hopefully putting the cast on today all being well. Plenty of time for his pocket pistol to be made then.

Michael, do you have a source for the tapeswitch and a price guide? This could be just the thing to keep my kids from moaning when the winter arrives and our skating consists of using my firm's undergrounf carpark for slalom, fun for me & Glenn but the kids get bored. Maybe the element of competition will mean they take longer to get bored.

Just heard Randal may be updating their standard yellow bushings to more a responsive and harder wearing compound.
The Loaded crew have just tested them in CA and they are quite impressed with the change in character of the 180's. Can wait to try them myself.
Apparently the bushings didn't split when tightened but... they're still yellow.
Any thoughts?

if you can go to a shop where you can try the board, or at least stand on it to assess the flex. glass composite construction though is def the way to go, loads more 'life' than birch. i've got two fiberflex, a 38 and a 42, both of which are way more flexy than the newer boards. also the legth makes a difference, the 42 is far more drawn out whilst the 38 whips around. truckwise look at seismic or randals. personally i prefer the 180 to the 150 randals, i find the 150 a bit twitchy. seismics are differnt again (though i hav'nt tried the new alu ones yet, i may have to talk to father christmas about some loose turn 180s though) and i have some german 135 set super loose that i love on the 38 - its like riding a twin fin surfboard! seismics may be a good call with your light weight. wheels, flashbacks are good as has been said. also look at the 3dm 75a red avalons or maybe avilias.
apart from ff it may be worth looking at the 3dm 36" deck esp as you can get one in a flex to suit you. mike strides the man to tell you about those decks.

Even weirder that the Turner I used that day was being ridden on sunday by Frank Wheeler!!! 2-0 to you Si, I will get you next time on my new Turner for tight courses....

Top advice regarding the Fibreflex, pintail.
My only other bit of advice would be to take some time trawling the Decks/trucks/wheels/completes forums on this site, make use of the search engine, hunt around and look for whats working and what to avoid..you may find that what is initially your first choice on recomendation by someone else, doesn't work for you.
You will find that most people go through a number of different combinations of wheels and truck before they get "the perfect ride"
Personally i've got a fibreflex 42" cutaway with Randal 180 and Soft 76a 3DM avila's.....it takes care of rough surface with no problem.
Also never be afraid to ask

The Fibreflex pintails are loads of fun, and great for pumping/carving. For tight turns on flat ground, you may be happier with a 38". I love mine. Randall 150s, Stimulator bushings, ABEC 11 Flashbacks.

Hey- I wonder if anyone can advise me on a board?
I have ridden both a 'normal' skate board and a mountain board, and am looking for a board which can carve long turns like a mountain board, but with more grip than 'normal' skateboard wheels- so it can handle road-like tarmac, not just the super smooth park stuff.
Plus- I understand weight and height is important too depending on the board-Iam 9 stone and 5.4"- what sort of board would give some good flex?
Have looked at lush longboards website- can anyone give me some help?

It is a bit ricky to contact them. We have "friend" there which we pay off, normally it is £8K per day.
Contact Jim Slater who has taken over the liason with them. He post here every now and then.
We will contact them for you, but you are all welcome at all our events, and you can run your own events there at the same time.
Glad you liked it. I think it is the best venue in the world, second is the Troccaderro, then US sites.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise the event at Brands. All the guys from Lard Ass loved it and are intersted in setting up a meeting at this premier site, there's even some of us thinking of buying cones!!!!! . Can anyone post details on who to contact to rent the track????? My son Laurie who won the kids slalom can't put his prize deck and wheels down, he just wonders around the house, with them clutched in his arms. Would be grateful if anyone has photos, especially the prize group photos. Cheers all and see you next time. Adrian
