Hey Matt,

Phillip, The Tallac 62 has a very long wheel base so you need to add steering to the board. The Indy trucks are very resonsive but to compensate for the extra long wheelbase you need to increase the steering geometry. The bottem line is that the board rides like a champion.

The Tallac is just about the longest board available. You could build a bigger one, or you could use the nerd net that we all know and love. Just see if you can get just the board so you can score some Randals and Power Paws wheels! Ha ha, and when you buy your Randals, just order them from Randal so you can save a little cash (which you will make up for on the shipping, but whatever). steve

I want to hear more about this Tahoe board that everyone seems to be talking about. What's up?? I live in Santa Barbra, CA I know a few heads that ride Tahoes but only my close bro will let me ride his. He has a Talmont 52 and that thing rides great. The biggest bummer is that we don't have any stores (that I know of) where I can get one.If anyone can help me out please let me know.I am 5'8" and 175lbs, the Talmont does me right but I am interested in a big board. The listings I have seem to like the Tallac 62, and I am all about riding longboards. I love Talmont but if there is a longer board available here in Cali let me know.

Phillip,
I talk to someone at Tahoe. For what it's worth, he said that the 62 came with double angled riser pads, on each truck. I've never ridden this setup, but I sounds like they are trying to compensate.

Do the indys that come with the complete really make the turning shitty. Has anyone ridden it with randal II's and how does it work compared to the indys.

I'm thinking about buying a Kapu Classic 54 or Noserider 47. Has anyone ridden these things? What did you think? How do the trucks hold up compare to Exkates? Martin

The tallac 62 flexes abou 1/2" when I stand on it, but I am only about 170 lb. I lent it to a guy who was 220 lb, and he got about 1 1/2" of flex out of it. Draw yer own conclusions.
Why do you want to know?

Flexideck with exkates....

Well, I got to try a Flexideck with exkates yesterday... It was pretty bizzare. First of all, it is the first flexy deck I have been on and I thought it would snap! (I am 225lb) It was pretty cool though. It had exkates 201's and kryptos. It was mellow, and not too turny. It seemed that the flexing action actually put a damper on the turning of the trucks. When the deck flexed, it straightened up the trucks, or so it seemed. It was still a cool and tripy ride, and it LOOKS bad-azz. I would like to thank Matthew for letting me check it out, because it is his board. Thanks dude!

I got my Bare Back Dominator compleate w/Tracker B2's and Bare Back the optional Bare Back 76mm 78a wheels.
I have to stay this board is the most fun deck I have ever ridden. If you are into snowboarding pick one of these up today! 44" long and 8.75-10" (!!!) wide.
This board rips. I'm thinking of attaching some straps through the wheel cut out, so I can really fly. These soft, beefy wheels can handel speed bumps and even go *up* curbs! here is a photo: http://www.bare-back.com/dominator.htm

If anyone wants to purchase the ultimate shred tool I would highley recommend one of the Tahoe boards.I'm a pro snowboarder and an avid surfer and new-school skater. I purchased a Tahoma 42 at the Las vegas trade show in 98 and since have made that 42 my best friend.Every morning I check the surf on it.It is the only way to start my day.The flex is sick and the kryptonics make it the carving machine.I was fortunate to run into the owners snowboarding at Squaw Valley this season. Those guys are Hella cool. They were so stoked to here that I had one of their boards.I just purchased a talmont 52 off the web and can't wait to get it.Thanx T.L.B. for making my life complete! Thanx for the input, I have decided to get one since I already have a New Deal 47" with Interstate wide trucks and Kryptonic Interstate wheels. It's pretty lite and I can grind and jump and stuff on it. But I hate speed wobbles. So I'm gonna buy this bad boy and cruise faster than a bat outa hell. I'll tell you guys what I think when I get it. I don't really care that much about a board flexing although the weight may present a problem. I just need a good looong board that I can cruise on and not have to worry to much about speed wobbles at around 30 mph. And maybe I'll get 2 people on it and try to cruise in pairs? Could be interesting. Peace

I recently got one of those Tahoe 62 boards. I have exkate 101s with the blue (med) bushings and Kryptonics classic K's 70mms mounted on it. (which is NOT the standard tahoe hardware). I cant speak for the tahoe complete, but as far as the deck goes I like it overall. It is *very* heavy, as you might expect, so if you think you may have to carry your board, I would consider getting a smaller one. The board does flex, but not very bloody much ( I weigh about 170 lb). It is excellent for super g carving, and is fun for flatland cruising as well. The size really does make a difference, and depending on where you stand on the board, it is a completely different ride. All in all, I would reccommend the board, but not if it is your only one. It is too big to bring on the bus, or even to fit in a car, and it is too heavy to carry.
Also, I would reccommend getting trucks that are wider than the exkate 101s. narrow trucks on a wide board is strange.

Hey Philip, I was wondering the same thing. That 62" board looks phat. I was just wondering if anybody has ridden Tahoe Longboards and if they are good. If I do get this bad boy (which I probably will) I shall dub it "Phat Boy" and I will officially be the core longboarder in this town. I'll also be cruising in style with a longboard that is taller than some people I know. So if anyone has ever ridden a Tahoe Longboard E-Mail me and tell me what you thought of it. Cause I wanna get this long one fast. Carve on
