Wiiiiide wheel base

Hope this picture works...I was looking through the picture archives today, and I had a copule of questions about this board. What is with the wheelbase of this board? This is a homade job right? I would think this board would be a pain to turn, but super stable. Also, I would think on deep carves, the rails would scrape the asphalt. Looks like you'd need smaller wheels too, at the most 65mm.
Anyone got any information on this funky board/setup? Anyone know the rider too?
Keep Carvin.

I got their Kicktail board. It's not bad really, it cruises just fine. The problem lies in it's Exkate Torsion tho, these trucks make it really wobbly at speed which I have to get some harder red bushings to correct the problem. So if you were to buy one from them, ask for red/green bushings

re. Dc ,That's funny, i was on the next page when the visual of a kid bouncing on his board and inadvertantly snapping it off ,hilarious image.Of course they'll say "that never happened before","he must have had one of the early ones, we've fixed that problem/have a new manufacturer/had a few defects, ect, ect, blah, blah, blah", i know nothing of their boards this is just the typical of most industries i know of,i swear i'm not that bitter.

I've seen these at Big 5 before. They are along the quality of a Nash or Sport fun board. For a company that has a proud history of having been a technology leader with their decks in the 70's, it's really a let down to see that they have come up with such lame shapes and poor construction quality. Remember, that making skateboard wheels is now a small part of their business, they are mainly a inline skate company. Their decks prove this. I would love to see them revamp some of their P-tex/foam decks, or their quality glass resined/wood decks like the Mickey Alba deck.

"walking board" for Hizzout

Although krypto's make the best wheels around, thier boards suck. I saw some stupid kid skating on one inside a Big-5 store, he was trying to show off or just be a jerk, and he started to jump up and down on it and it snapped right in two. And the lame thing was, he wasn't even jumping very hard at all. But if you are looking for a long longboard, check out "tahoe" boards. They should be on the links page of this web site. They are very cool and I've hung out with the owner and he is a rad guy.

Kryptonic Decks

Until today, I never knew Kryptonic made decks, I thought they were all about wheels...their boards look great though. Streamlined design looks great, and I suppose works out for function.
I'm still searching for that walking board though! (50-52 inch). Realwood boards look perfect for what I'm looking for, but damn they are expensive! And a company that hasn't updated their page since last December leaves me kind of weary buying from them.

I have done business with Real-wood in the past and have never had a problem with them responding to my needs/questions. I have done their on-line ordering and have been very satisfied with their company. I spoke to one of their techs and he was knowlegable and friendly. Try sending them an e-mail, they really do exist... HR

A couple of weeks ago I got my Fluid 48" dragon with Seismics and Aluminators from Longskate. I've tried to ride my other three boards but every time I get on them I'm disappointed. I used to think my Randal R2s, Bones Bombers, and 38" pintail was the best, but it now feels stale. My other boards are just sitting there collecting dust.

Well Phil, I'm handboarder (like I keep saying, I'll get over it) but for a longboard I'd say you'd probably not want much flex...something long and solid you can walk around on, and kick turn with. I know shortboard surfers who love S9 Cosmic 2 on hills though, wild and loose, in the bowl too.

I'm like that guy Sonny who wanted to know which was better to improve surfing skills -- a sector 9 or flexdex. I'm a longboarder, but i want something that will carve. I was thinking about the kalani robb or slater40 flexdex, or a cosmic sector 9. I'm 5'10'' 170lbs. Can ya help a brother out?

Yeah, I'll tell you what; skateboards totally rule as a way to go down to check the surf. Beats the hell out of running back and forth, I really hate that especially when you're trying to beat the wind etc.

No sorry, I havent seen the add. I used to have one of those though, #64 of 500. The very first mass produced longboard, and still the quickest turning board I've ever ridden. I've been in search for one for a few years now, and I am willing to pay top dollar for one in decent condition. Anyone?
