It comes in many colors. If it has machine marks on the surface, you can be pretty sure it is the right stuff. The catalog should have stated the color, check your product # under the search window at www.mcmaster.com. I got some black off eBay for righteous money ($5 for each 4x24" piece)

I am trying to puchase some UHMW from McMasterCarr and its order form is asking for a company name. Do they only deal with businesses, or can I just use my own name/address. Also, I do not mind trying to make my own gloves but am wondering if you guys think it's a lot easier/cheaper to get em already made. THanks

Forget buying "Grip Gum" from a skateshop - go to Home Depot, in the Tool Corral, and find a belt sander cleaner. It is exactly the same stick of crepe rubber, but it's about half or a third what you pay if it's marketed as a skate product.
I always carry one in my bag. Works like a charm.

I'd try a pressure washer if you have ready access to one; not too much psi to start with, of course! Or you can simply regrip the deck for a few bucks.

I dont know if it will work on deoderant, but there is a product called Grip Gum that cleans grip tape very well, I dont know if its available where you live, but Its all over in Colorado..If you cant find it locally, check their web page, and Im sure Jason can tell you where to get it around your area

The only luck I have had cleaning grip tape is when I use some warm dish soapy water and a shop cloth... the kind of cloth that doesn't leave little strands of material when it gets roughed up.
I gently scrub with the soapy water, then use a clean rag and water to wipe off the soap.
It's a hassle, but usually works... HR

Anyone know how to get Mennen Speed Stick out of grip tape ? I just got back from Florida, and Continental abused my checked bag so bad, that my Speed Stick was shattered, and smeared all over my deck. On the other hand, my pads smell a lot better...

Pocket Pistol's foam concave kit is so cool. You can add concave to any flat board. Its light, tough and easy to mount. Just stick it where you want it, and trim off the excess with a sharp blade. Took me less than 15 minutes to hook up my GS board.

I picked up a pretty inovative new product that should be of interest to quite a few guys... It's a backpack that has a cooler portion on the bottom that can hold up to 18 cans... ample storage up top for stuff... and has a light weight strap on chair... a few pics for now... more to come! HR

Just get some grade 8 kingpins & don't worry about it.
Unless of course you WANT to send your broken kingpins to someone to be "analized" thus knowing scientifically the reason for the failiure.
Then perhaps one of these fellows could conduct a thorough investigation of kingpin failure and which brand and grade of kingpin would be optimal for your Randalls given your specific riding style, wheelbase, weight, shoe size and bagal preference.
Best bet for getting grade 8 kingpins is an auto parts store.
They won't break.
I promise.

Yeah,I focused in on the bushings simply because the kingpin might get torqued on by the hanger in a violent turn.Even though the aluminium is softer,it does have a considerable lever-arm effect going for it.With impacts from acid-drops or curb slams (these because I can't see anyone grinding far enough down thru the hanger to grind the kingpin),a harder kingpin might snap where a lower grade kingpin might flex or stretch.The baseplate-to-kingpin fit is sloppy.It may indeed give that extra little nudge of inertia needed to cause a repetitive stress cycle failure to occur if the kingpin is getting whacked side-to-side within the baseplate. As for Browmalloy,I would say those bolts are pretty tough,and certainly better quality than the Chinese crap bolts being sold at chain hardware stores these days.I recall a few of the Coaster Mechanics I worked with saying that other bolts(even other U.S. companies) didn't hold up as well as Browmalloy,and I've seen 'the other' bolts,,well pieces of them.
