I have seen alot of cool things in skateboarding throughout my life, tricks that have left me blown away. But I witnessed something mind blowing this year. Claude aka Cknuck win the Hybrid at The Texas Cold Fusion Sizzler, that is inspiration man. The Bro just got stronger every run. Yea I was cheering for my bro. Bigtime. When a true master can school the younins, well as Chris Farley use to say " That was AWESOME. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws/Pavel Skates.

Kludy, Art, and the rest of the "old" crowd, i can only hope I am still ripping when I'm "old". You all inspire younger riders whether they'll admitt it or not. Keep your love for rolling on 4 wheels and you'll always have my respect. why??? Old guys/gals RULE!!!!!!!!!11

On 3/20/2007 KLUDY wrote in from United States  (68.8.nnn.nnn)

I tell you reading that gave me a big smile. Getting older just means I will need to start doing alot of things that I just never had to, Like going to my room with heavy ice bags,Hah ! For me age had nothing to do with my life or what I cared to do. only a number. Just found out with in a few short months that indeed I am 45 with 4 kids, great job, boring ! As this happens I am coming to the fact of how much I love four wheels, peace of wood and trucks under my feet. The kids today dont know if I am coming to race or just draft them smiling. I think it is still on!

Oregon State Games
On 3/12/2007 Pat Chewning wrote in from United States  (67.189.nnn.nnn)

There are several good skateboard parks nearby. The closest one is in Aumsville, where the Oregon State Games starts on Friday night 7pm for a park slalom event.

Before or after the race, you might want to travel a bit further to some of the excellent parks nearby (Newberg, West Linn, Donald, etc).

All races are uni-sex, there are no seperate divisions for women/men.

Nice to have another Master join us..

High-Five to all the Masters last weekend. Claude the Master Warrior, you simply kick-ass, nothing else to say eh. Norski, it was an absolute pleasure racing with you and losing to you in our second 8 Hybrid heat. You're a cool cat - for a big guy in the Masters bracket you still got the wiggle man. Cat, congratulations on your racing debut. Your confidence in yourself is very refreshing and "you can do it". You were outstanding on the GS for a newbie. Eddie the man Martinez, Marcos, you guys are the ultimate hosts - thanks for making me feel so welcome. I'm not sure if Kevin Dunne and John Stryker are over 45 or not but they rocked the weekend too. I have much practice ahead of me to keep up with all of you this year...

Kludy - There will be a variety of age groups represented (I'll be 40 in May) but mostly the 35 to 45 year age group will be present. You picked a good race in the Sizzler with which to get familiar with slalom. Call or email me with any questions or needs.

Slowing down
On 2/12/2007 Kludy wrote in from United States  (216.70.nnn.nnn)

Thank you,I am forced to step back and slow down my life completly. My feeling was slalom would be perfect for me at this time in my life and I am finding unlike downhill I have to ride the skateboard, not just (stand-up) on it. Slalom is where I am lead right now, will need to heal and start alot slower but will be setting cones up every week end now instead of driving hrs to bomb a hill.I have the board now and helmet, the only thing left is the pads.Looking forward to getting the hang of it.
