Cliff, Lookin forward to seeing you again in the Uk , unfortunately i can only make the Bristol weekend due to family commitments on the other 2 dates. There will be a crew of us comin down from Essence to shake things up and party! Lookin forward to meeting Sergio and hookin up with all the Random Rides / Faltown boys again. Pete will not be with us as he is planning a trip with Mo round Europe hitting all the races and freerides. He needs a good break like that and is well deserved. Hope all is well with you and rock on July! Jon from Essence

Patrick,
Check the link to Timeship Racing on the left side of this very page. They are one of many who sell gloves. They also sell the style that I personally use.
Don't skate without slider gloves.

Thanks Cliff for the post to CLBC! Looks like the clubbers are getting me a board.
Check your mail, I have been getting a LOT of feedback about having you come up and do a slide school here on the coast. Many hills you have not seen, ask Rizzo! Contact me, let's do this!

It was nice meeting you and skating with you. You're a great skater and I realy appreciate how nice you and hundreds of others are to me. You guys are so supportive that its hard not to get better. Long boards rule and will always be the most layed back scene.

Palmer,
You really put on a show for everyone at the Bear! Your starts took my breath away. The dead heat with Will Brunson was classic.
The people of Albuquerque are to be thanked for being such great hosts to all of us! Anything associated with Joe Lehm is first rate. Kay Lee made my stay very comfortable, and made sure at his own expense that I always had more than I needed. He and any of the rest of you who travel to Berkeley, CA can stay at my house and get a tour of the Hills we have.
Thanks again for everything,
Cliff Coleman

Habib/Slide comps

Habib,
Slide comps are at the grass roots level currently. I will be in the UK, England next month. At each clinic, we usually have a slide contest for the first day students and another contest for those more experienced. Remember, you did say anywhere. You would do well at any contest, anywhere! If you could afford the trip, I would highly recommend that you visit England. They would love your show and would also give you some good competition. You can find out about my UK tour with Sergio next month by checking the www.lushlongboards.com web-site.
The Faltown guys are in the process of promoting slide comps in the UK and hope to run a UK National Slide contest in the future. Hopefully when they do, it will be an open event for skaters from around the world.
You should organize an event that fits your desires! It would be a great learning experience. You will meet many people. Some might end up helping you, and become valuable connections for your future.
I know I will return to Danger Bay next year and that we will run another Slide Competition. When we run these contests, they get better and better each year. Rizzo said he will be practicing for next year. He has two friends that are his equal or better as sliders. Look out if they show up.
You can also bookmark Brazilizn web-sites. They have been having slide competitions for approximately 20 years!
Let me know what you think,
Cliff Coleman

Like Smitty it was awsome to meet the Legendary Cliff Coleman. Onething I regret was not riding but that will be next year but to chat with Cliff was surreal to me coz I remember when I was a kid I always want'd to meet Cliff. Now I did next year if you come back Cliff I hope to be riding with you. I also wish'd that I didn't work the day the slidin' went on pissed me off though the guyz from Pender Harbour really learn'd alot of you about slidin'. ThanX for comin' up and hangin' with us we all enjoyed your havin you here. peace out frome BIKEMIKE ps: I am tryin to come back down to Cali so when I am down there can you show me some hillz down there?

Hey, got to meet and chat with Mr. Coleman this weekend here in British Columbia. Sorry we missed you Monday morning, but my ride left EARLY.
Cliff, hopefully next time you're up, we can arrange a little slide school. i think that would be a great addition to next years race. It was a pleasure, and we made good use of the cone you gave me:-)
Thanks again, man...it was nice not being the oldest skater at the event!

Hey Cliff,
You may have posted this somewhere, but have you ever considered having someone do a digital video/DVD of a few of your clinics to illustrate your techniques, teaching, etc. You could make it available through NCDSA and I think it would become a standard part of Sk8 Training.
By the way, great work. You name is in my pantheon, right up there with Ollie :)
Best regards, Dr. Dave

The Saturday event at UCSD looks like fun and at least two (probably more like four--assuming that our two UCSD students are in) of us plan to attend. Thank you, Chaput, for bringing it to my attention.
