Thats pretty funny Bauschkook.

I love your quote,
"who do you think you are with your beard? OB 1 Coleman?"

Nope, his nuts have just dropped, maybe one day you will be able to grow one too.

Baush... Besides the facts described below by Ben, Cliff is a blast to skate with and he is a strong voice of reason with regard to safety, and public perception of what we do. So many people ride with Cliff every day, on great hills, having an awesome time. Retire from what? The acts that make Cliff vital, fun, and healthy? Get a grip dude... what will you be doing when you're 55? Sitting behind a desk getting fat! Get a brain...

Shut up bausch
On 12/6/2005 Ben wrote in from United Kingdom  (82.33.nnn.nnn)

Obviously you have never met the great man himself. He is a great teacher, and still i am yet to see a more stylish coleman slide at 35+mph round a cright hand bend. And bausch how many slides do you have named after you? none! oh what a surprise. and having seen Cliff skate in general he can ride anything you want to throw at him, slalom, slide, park, freestyle, u name it.
Do us all a favour and just leave this board alone.

cliff you need to retire, your slides are old and outdated, like your self,
who do you think you are with your beard? OB 1 Coleman? get softer wheels and a longerboard. Gravityboards suck

Re: home made gloves
On 12/3/2005 Gilligan wrote in from United States  (69.254.nnn.nnn)

I made some gloves from Chaput's recipe... they work well, but you might like to add finger pucks.

The fingertips on mine are all covered with duct tape to hide the holes, but they still work well.

Timeship Racing slide gloves

speedfiend,
check out the Timeship Racing Tracer gloves. They are cool (temp), not bulky, and they have kevlar knuckles just so you can be a coolguy. I've been wearing mine for a year and a half and still haven't worn them out. Just don't smell them...

Tushar,
On 11/29/2005 Cliff Coleman wrote in from United States  (69.109.nnn.nnn)

Tushar,

I'm running clinics where and when there are sufficient students to cover expenses for travel, lodging, food, etc. At the moment, I'm busy getting ready for the Slide Fest in Oceanside, CA, December 3rd. Then if I can get my visa ready, I'll be flying to Brazil in the middle of January and staying for a month.

Currently, I'm disconnected from the net at home and am doing my correspondence from an internet cafe. I takes me a while sometimes to get back on questions here. I'm sorry and will get the connection up again as soon as possible.

If by chance you might be traveling to an area where I might be, like the contest or here in Berkeley, I'd be happy to help you out. Otherwise, you should try to get a crew of interested students together for a scheduled clinic in your area.

Thanks,
Cliff Coleman

flat decks
On 11/27/2005 Darren wrote in from United States  (82.32.nnn.nnn)

you can slide any deck if you wanted...You could but ....Why would you want to? 36 or 40 inch double kick board is the way to go if you want to make it easy on yourself..

Slide Gloves
On 11/26/2005 SpeedFiend wrote in from United States  (69.142.nnn.nnn)

I just made a pair of slide gloves with the kitchen cutting board and a pair of lincoln welders. I made single finger pucks and glued them with liquid nails. The gloves are good but nothing spectacular. I looked around on the net and was wondering if anyone had some designs they could post here. Everything I see like Bear Paws and all that is kind of bulky looking. I did see a picture from last years Top Challenge--I was not there-- that a speedboarder had that looked real stripped down. He had two gloves in one hand with a bottle of water and is standing with three other guys. They all have Big Red Xs. The gloves have the basic palm puck and then a finger bar. Looks like bicycle gloves. Anyone know about these gloves? Any help would be cool. Thanks

Good Times!!
On 11/19/2005 Art Fisher wrote in from United States  (66.245.nnn.nnn)

Hey Cliff,
Great hanging with you Thursday, reminiscing and catching up. Good to see you doing well and enjoying your lifestyle to the fullest. When you get regular online access hit my email art@baylaw.com

I ran into those guys you met, Charles & his brothers, (collectively the Hewlitts) and they're still stoked. Surf was excellent, 8' - 10' on the sets and some nice barrell sections. My shoulder held up pretty well through several poundings.

You left your sweatshirt in my car. I'll get it back to you next time we meet up. I'm interested a mission to Costa next summer when the southern hemi south swells are hitting. Also, what are the dates for the upcoming event in San Diego? I go down there and surf the reefs around La Jolla a couple times a year and it's getting to be time, money permitting. I've got buddies downn there I can crash with.

gloves
On 11/18/2005 AenGhooste wrote in from United Kingdom  (193.113.nnn.nnn)

either that or ship from lush, you still get the prob of the velcro pucks comin off if you slide across dodgy surface but they have leather fingers now and kevlar knuckle things.

You can rivet or glue them on but then if they hang up on somthing at speed you can twist your hand off.

To be brutally honest, any glove you buy will tear if you dont use it as its designed, ie if you dont slide on the pucks at all times or if you slide over somthing that will rip off the pads. I got welding gloves and they're pretty robust but even them have holes in and are now held together by spit and dreams... Thank God its Friday!
