Flounder,

The skaters in the Bones Brigade
Video Show are, Chris Iverson, Todd Hastings and Stacy Peralta. In the following video, Future Primitive, the skaters are, Chris Iverson and Rich Dunlop. Rich Dunlop also did the stunt work for Thrashin and Gleaming the Cube.

Hope that helps,
Cliff Coleman

I have been wondering this for twenty years. I thought maybe somebody on this forum could clue me in. In the second powell video there is a big sliding segment. This video part is still to me the raddest part in a video ever. I've always wondered who in the hell were the guys doing the sliding. If anyone knows please post. Thank You in advance.

Fabrice,

Brazil was great fun. Sergio is a good Team manager. I like Florionopolis in the South and want to go back.

I got a request to possibly judge the event in Paris. I would be proud to do so and am working the details out to try and get there currently.

Send me your phone number via my e-mail please. "sk8fast@gmail.com".

Are you going for the slide contest in Paris? Sweet! Will be a blast. Hope Breamo will send us there...but last time i spoked to him it was a negative answer. The hill aint hard core enough...actually, there aint no hill.

Ill probably be there anyway.

Had a good trip in Brazil? Everything was ok over there?

Rene,

I just returned from Brazil. I was there for a month and got home two days ago. In April I plan on going to San Luis Obispo, with Jonny Miller, for a skate /slide festival. In May, I'll be in British Columbia for a downhill race and a slide contest. Claude wants me to visit his side of Canada in July. I'm now working on visiting Paris for the slalom and slide contests there. Life is good Rene.

Talk soon,
Cliff

Eddie
On 2/21/2006 Cliff Coleman wrote in from Brazil  (200.193.nnn.nnn)

Eddie,

Use trucks that you like and make sure that when they are mounted with wheels too, that the wheels line up with the outside rails of the deck. If the deck is wider than the trucks with wheels mounted, it will be too tippy. If the deck is not as wide as the trucks with the wheels mounted, then it will be harder to turn and you might step on a wheel and fall/crash.

I use independent trucks, 149 wide for a deck about 9" wide.

On 2/17/2006 andrew wrote in from United States  (71.141.nnn.nnn)

Hey Cliff,

Here's a moment from the 'hood for you. I'm riding up Channing above Telegraph this morning and I see this long boarder completely eat it.

He was moving at about running pace... tried to foot drag on wet pavement... got crossed up and tried to run it out... but his feet coudn't catch his body and he touched down on hands/shoulder/head.

He fell into the lane in front of a car that skidded to a stop. Classic.

***

I stopped and asked him if he knew about sliding.

"yeah, man"

I explained the benefits of crashing on slide gloves and offered to teach him for free... so that brutal gash in his hand "never happened again".

"Im late to class"

I gotta say he never made eye contact and seemed put off by the idea of a lesson.

***

maybe if the spirit of cooperation, instead of competition, pervaded the sport more folks would take a little coaching. I started skateboarding less than two years ago after a slide lesson from Cliff. Now I can safely negotiate my way down pretty much any slope with a ride-able surface.

Humble today/Play tomorrow
