Long and fast with lots of turns, you should plan your run Have a friend around to call 911, if you ditch to one side its a dirt and rock wall, the other is barbed wire and raspberry bushes. A killer beachview run in sunny CA.

Manchester - England
On 3/31/1998 Rod Fountain wrote in from ()

I haven't got a review as such, just more of a warning. Sk8ing of any sort is apparently
illegal in Manchester England. I heard that it was initially banned from the steps of the
monuments but that now the ban is a blanket accross the whole
city. I think that it's:1 - Warning
2 - Fine
3 - A date with the judge

So, watch out.

Would anyone like to inform me of some long, moderate grade
hills inside the beltline in Raleigh, NC? Most of the
I have been able to find so far are about a quarter mile
long. Fortunately, my street is about this long and smooth, but
I'm looking for something long. There are a few good
parking decks on the NC. State campus that are worth riding
late Saturday and on Sunday, so check them out if you're in
the same place I'm in.

A wail'in good time, a friend and bombed it on long boards, and streetluges. It is NOT LEGAL, but early in the morning, it was a blast! To anyone who wants to try this: It is a 75mph run on a luge, and totaly sick on a board! Wear leathers, and a helmet!

The very top of south mountain where the radio towers
are is a sick spot. The Foothills have some nice turf. Also
look for drainage ditches in that area. Great for flatland
and bombing slopes. It's a beautiful thing!

Balboa/Geary Loop
On 3/24/1998 cj Amit wrote in from ()

You can start at 36th & Geary and cruise down the hill to 33rd and hang a right. A couple of pumps to the crest of the small hill. Then it's side to side to Anza where you hang a right and pop down this unbelievably wide street to 34th and hang a left. There's a little flat spot and then hang a right on to Balboa. then it's down a hill, not very steep then to a short flat spell then a really cool hill that when the on shore is blowing, it's great. Totally mellow. Then just follow the Muni lines overhead to the beach. I take this when I "just need to go to the store for a little something." I then catch either the 18Legion of Honor Muni Bus back up to 36th Ave., or the 38 Geary back up to Anza, or the 31Ferries to the top of Balboa and 31 and take Balboa all the way down. Man it's fun. Especially in the rain!! Yowza!!!

San Jose-Santa Clara- somewhere between 16-22nd street and E. Santa Clara st.
On 3/14/1998 no.... wrote in from ()

i was readin an article in thrasher about 3 years ago sayin a new skate park was gonna be built. I got so excited. Every day for almost 8 months i skateboarded by there and nothing was being done. Just about 2 months ago, they started digging up the old park to build a skate park. I think it's suposed to be done in 6 months. Besides that.......
I found this great spot in a almost silent neighbor hood that's soooo unbelieveable it great. a bunch of old people live there so they really can't do anything. it's a 9 mile road. smooth as hell. goes down, then flat, the down, then flat. The road is almost 40' wide so it's great to carve on. The flat spots are huge. you can do a kickflip as smooth as butter on a hot summers day. It's somewhere around St. Lawrence expressway. about 6 mi. west of it. i'll see if i can get directions....

NEBRASKA
On 3/4/1998 LuCkY wrote in from ()

If you live near Nebraska; One thing you can do is skitching- sneak up on vehicles, grab on , hold and skitch(dangerous)! Another thing that is pretty cool is going downtown, find one of those parking buildings with levels, and ride the ramps all the way down(watch out for cars)! The best thing to do is find slightly rolling hills, and fly. Or just chill and cruize the neighborhoods. Sidewalk surf, driveway to driveway, ride with momentum, transportation, whatever.............

The harbor(upper and lower) has smooth pavement and a few hairraising hills including great curves. you have to search around a bit but its worth it. the biggest hill at the harbor is in the upper area
(come in from bromer(7th intersection) Also just after leaving downtown heading east on soqel there is a great sidewalk downhill section with many rollers and smooth driveway entrys. If you need a ridding buddy or a board e-mail me

West Valley College, Saratoga,CA

Found another pretty cool place. We ride the backside of west valley college, in the street. It is about 1/2 mile long and is pretty mellow. It is fun because there are mellow sections and then it gets steep and then mellow again. Start up by the swimming pool and head downhill. This is a good place to go on a weekend, because there is no traffic. It is pretty smooth and the road dividers (those crazy little bumps) make for a good salom run. It is worth a check out. I want to also check out harwood road, looks like it has potential. Peace out. G

No contest.
If you are coming to MA and are looking for a place to ride,
head out west to the Amherst/New Salem area. Leverett, a
neighboring town has the sweetest run. A 9 mile stretch from
Lake Wyola to Rt. 63. Killer

the hills are small, 55 mph is the top speed and that is on a lay down luge. on a stand up skate you can get all the rush you like. A few names, paradise road(it is). and calumet waterworks hill, and even the gay, mohawk road. not to mention the whole houghton hancock area

Queenston ,ont, Canada
On 2/1/1998 Bean wrote in from ()

This Place rox, It's not just one hill either, it's a whole town full of all different kinds of hills, for riders of every skill level from beginer to fairly advanced. Although there are no huge hills here there are a lot of nice cruisin hills. Some of the best ones are the niagara parkway, Queenston rd, and there is a nice path coming from Queenston park, it's pretty skinny but it's got some nice turns and the pavements pretty good, And no trafic at all
I would recomend this place to anyone who lives in the area that wants some nice cruisin runs.
My friends and me usually ride here almost every weekend when the weathers good.
Hope to see ya there.

Well now all to whom the hills call "RIDE ME" I have a great few runs , All of Ahaheim Hills + Yorba Linda have got great hills most over 2 miles long . But the problem is no matter what time you go even at 0dark30 you will encounter someone who will yell at you or give you the thumbs up sign.It just amazes me the callous of people . Well ride hard and look out for the ass that swerves to hit you , I have talked to cops when out riding and have yet to get that ticket .
Allways smile at them if you speek to them as it keeps them at ease . Ride Fast

SHIT THIS RUN HAS A PUCKER FACTOR OF 8 (PUCKER FACTOR=HOW THIGHT YOUR @#$ HOLE CLAMPS SHUT). THE REAL RESON IS THE THE DAMN YUPIES WHOM THINK THEY OWN THE ROAD WHEN WE REALY DO!.
IT NEVER SEEMS TO SUPRISE ME WHEN SOME PUKE IN A LAND ROVER SWERVES TO HIT ME , MY RESPONCE IS TO HUCK MY BOARD INTO THE WIND SHELD . THIS RUN IS 3 MILES LONG HAS A REAL FAST GRADE AND MUST ONLY BE RIDDEN AT NIGHT, AS IT HAS A LOT OF CARS ON IT . A SINGLE TRACK ON THE RIGHT IS TORN UP AND WILL SHAKE YOU SILLY IF YOU GET STUCK ON IT . ITS BEST TO BREAK OFF TO THE SIDE STREETS AS FOR LESS CARS , ONE STREET HAS THIS DROP THAT IS INSANE RIGHT WHEN YOU NEED TO CARVE. THE LAST .4 MILES IS REAL DARK AND I MEAN REAL DARK , GO STRAIGHT AT THE LAST LIGHT AND I'VE BEEN CLOCKED AT 27 MPH. ALL SIDE STREES WILL LAND YOU BACK TO THIS SECTION . I USE A HEAD LIGHT SO AS TO SEE THE LOOKS ON THE FACES OF ON COMING CARS . EVERY COP (3) THAT HAS SPOKEN TO ME REALY DOES NOT CARE IF YOU RIDE THIS HILL AT NIGHT . AND I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING , THE COPS THERE CAUSE I PITCHED MY BOARD AT A CAR , BUT NO IT SEEMS THAT THE FUCKS HAVE NO SPINE AND WILL NOT REPORT THAT THEY TRIED TO RUN SOME BOARDER OVER . STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS AND SHREAD THE HILLS .

The parking is just so wide compared to the French ones! Peace to Ryan, Captain Craig, John, Turtle Neck, Rob&Noel, Greg, Christina and all da Jenkins Hall 95 crew!

Honolulu's mini Haleakala. Da Best in Town. A 10 mile loop on the ridge creates two 5 mile runs. Drive to the top and take your pick of Tantalus Drive or Round Top Drive. Definitely advanced boarding. Many Hairpins. Beware of oncoming traffic and slick spots in the shade. Bottom of run is Nehoa and Makiki St. intersection in Makiki. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!
