jSan Jose Downhilling...
On 5/5/2004 Miko wrote in from (66.81.nnn.nnn)

Allrighty now! We had a great session with Mark Johnson, and just like last spring/summer/fall, we had spot after spot to leapfrog to...

A great parking garage, with enough speed for straightaway tucks into pack sliding through every corner.

A 45-50mph world class technical downhill over 1 mile in length.

*Many* 25-40mph super smooth bombing and extreme carving hills... if a homeowner gets irate, we're off to another equally great spot.

Several of these spots are even better after 9pm when traffic really dies down, but we rode everything between 6-9pm monday with no problems. If you like to ride fast, and are in the area, shoot us an email and we'll have a session.

New England?
On 4/30/2004 EmmTee wrote in from (207.31.nnn.nnn)

Okay anyone from New England care to share any spots? I only have two that I can rely on and I have been skating in the area for awhile. First one is the good old Arboretum in Jamaica Plain. Second is an access road on Comm Ave near BC. I KNOW there must be better spots out in the burbs, can anyone help out here?

Central Oregon People

People That live in Oregon Or near the boreder and really love nice hills. Should come See Bend, Oregon Buttes. OMFG sweetest f#@!in rides Most of the town has new pavement, Just the down side unless you go up to Skyline summit Which is super sweet, Right in town on the west side. bu if u were up there would swear u were atleast 8 miles from town. But During Daytime This town Has VERY heavy Traffic, Like we lived in San Fran, Twincitys and D.C. and this Bend, Oregon (Or Bendoveragain is what i like to call it lol) Has the worse traffic then those major city's. So mainly we go bombing Like the back sides of 1 of many buttes. For all u people who dont live in valcanic areas a butte is like the top of a mountian that got blowen off 1000's of years ago. And now all the buttes Have roads circleing up them. One of the buttes its called abbry butte i think s a good like 10 mile ride at cruise speeds of 35mph-45mph. Very nice place to downhill at dark when the 1 million cars off off the s#@!, um... roads, hehehe, my backspace key stoped working wtf? lol. K'den But Four Real People. Its worth hitting up if you are in the area.

New York City Longboarding
On 4/20/2004 Tyler wrote in from (170.148.nnn.nnn)

Hey, for any riders in the New York City area, be sure to check out www.freshpaved.com - We have a loose group of riders that started getting together to skate last summer and worked in conjunction with some professional photographers to do some amazing shoots. The site links you to the yahoo! group as well as some samples photos from the shoots last summer. As the weather gets nicer we usually meet up several times during the week and weekend to ride. For more information on where we ride, check out www.longboardmaps.com , cheers.

mar vista
On 4/12/2004 stevie wrote in from (68.4.nnn.nnn)

... oh yeah, I like that area too. I spent my first years over there. I stll dream about sliding down the crumbly precipices south of Ballona Creek. If you want to find spots in the rest of LA just turn and go a short distance in any direction. The western part of the Westchester Hills has some good spots . Baldwin Hills too. If you're able to get to the Santa Monica Mountains about 8 miles north you'll be in Hog Heaven. Keep an eye out for more peripheral roads with low through-traffic and hillside access roads that might have been recently repaved. On the other hand just about every hilly neighborhood has the best runs after 11pm, after the cars cool down. That's where I'll be.

Ben,

So much for the weekend. I had more work than I knew what to do with and the weather SUCKED. I'm planning on heading out there as soon as possible, i'll let you know if we take a trip. I've been planning on headin out there soon to get some more footage, so i'll let you know sooner than later. I didn't get your email either. downhillsk8@hotmail.com right? If you come to Virginia Beach again let me know. There's nothing to bomb really, other than the garage and some mellow hills, but are sliding sessions get pretty crazy if you're into that kinda thing.

Virginia Beach - Town Centre Garage
On 4/3/2004 Ryan wrote in from (66.239.nnn.nnn)

Ben,

I think I might have bombed the garage with you before. I was hitting the garage up on my way to work, and two guys came up to the 9th floor, said whats up and a few words, and bombed the garage twice before loosing each other on the way down. I was riding a Sector 9 44" spoon shape board with Randal 180's and Cherry Bombs. One guy had a FlexDex and the other guy was bombing with a shortboard. If you're still trying to race, me and a friend can drive out there. We've got a short run in Williamsburg that reaches 30+ with fresh asphalt that could be good for some short races. If I find some long runs i'll let you know, drop me an email if you know some spots worth hitting (long runs, stupid fast, etc.). downhillsk8@hotmail.com

VA - Parking Lot and Garage
On 3/30/2004 Malakai wrote in from (68.48.nnn.nnn)

Prince William commuter lot, nice full circle low grade natulis style road spiraling around large open lot, back hill steep gradient with 4 cement banked sidewalks empty as a ghost town on the weekends just off of 95 at lakeridge/ox road exit take the lakeridge exit and then turn left you can see it from 95. Real nice for surf style or sliding tons of room been hitting it two years and no worries (the back hill is a tight left turn can be gnarly) *info prolly can be found on metro site

Dunn Loring Gallows paking garage just off 495/50west/gallows take a right/take a left at the metro lot then take a left (away from the lot) inot the lot of the big ass empty 9 lvl 6up/3sub parking garage, top 4 levels always empty ghost town on weekends, fun time rain or shine, elevator free ride 24/7 also been hitting it two years no worries great spot for slalom training or sliding smooth and very little bothers *info prolly can be found on metro site

let me know if ya hit'm I'm looking to flow
