thanks for posting that link K-lee. I had seen it before....I remember a film team following that guy sammy around for that race season and documenting his life, since he lives in his van and has been going to every downhill race in Europe for many years. Sammy ended up giving me a ride to the Altburon swiss champs race along with 6 brazillians and 1 swedish guy. it was a gong show. there is also a brief clip of me racing sammy and Douglas Silva one of the fastest brazilian riders @ 6:21 i'm the one in 3rd place. aaahh, racing in europe, a exellent way to blow $2,000 in 4 weeks. :--)

Don't you dare get injured before this event! 150mm randals are adequate, but you should bring 180's as well, especially if you don't bring a DH set up/ I suggest you do, Rio Bravo is fun! Basically, the bigger the quiver the better, but if you can't bring all that then the bigger the WHEEL BASE the better. In the end, after dozens and dozens of runs down multi mile ditches, you'll be less worn out by riding the bigger board. I usually spend most of my ditch time on my 56" inch Super Tanker w/ Randall 180s and any soft wheel, and am never on less than my 44".

It looks like I am heading down for this event (the whole week barring any last minute injuries) and I need some advice on what is the best set-up for the various ditches. I understand that for the Bear that longer wheelbase and a 150mm hangar is good. What about the other ditches that will be raced?
I am planning on bring a park, and my DH set-up but I do not know about what else to bring.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

Slalomers, Potential Slalomers and Slalom Watchers, Slalom Sunday seems to be an ongoing thing again. Stop by the UNM observatory lot on Sunday Dec 17 to run some cones—12:00 noon, mas o menos. Slalom for Lunch weekdays 11:30 – 1:00 Dec 18 till January 3 (maybe longer if Paul isn’t the only one close with a lunch break) parking lot South East of Eubank Costco and North of the baseball field, unless it is snowing. Fairly flat, 2 or 3 tight, pumping courses usually set.

So, does that mean the westside skatepark is open to skate? I no longer have to jump the fence just to get a look? Or did you get in during some sort of special TSR-only day, or what? How do I get a pass like that?!?!
I've been swamped with school, too swamped to check it out lately. But, after Tuseday the 12th, I'll definitely have time to skate. 4 weeks paid vacation, hell yes! This is one of the benefits of working my butt off all semester.
In the mean time, can anyone help me with this? Can you guess what I'll be doing this weekend?

The new park is sicker than AIDS! 3/4 pipe surrounded by 3 giant bowls and the shallow end is 9 feet deep! The street area is like nothing I've ever seen, Evan will love it. Brunson was at 10 o'clock 1st day out, and my pintail needs a kicktail , dropping in was gnar!
