Any of timeship riders that are interested in making it up to Colorado for The VaiL pass Freeride on June 21st, there will also be a slalom event on June 23rd held by Chris Barker... thats 2 birds with one stone if you ask me.

James moved to DC last week, where have you been? Good luck to Price and Brunson in Vernon. I hope they set a REAL slalom so TSR can show 'em how it's done! Oh yeah, the DH too....one push, no pumps?

Yeah, I lost the link or soemthing, If Lookout could be done, it would definitely be a premier event, a race course on par with maryhill no doubt, and you would get great spectator turnout. I can help out, but i feel it will take lots of skater support and showing up to lots of meetings and whatnot, 3 different agencies you have to go through, it's alot.

Joe, I would love to help put on a big dh event for all skill levels with TSR for the summer of 2008 on Lookout Mounatin. It would be a great event to hold, and we could even throw a slide contest in the heart of Golden on their newly paved hills. I have been hitting Lookout almost once a week now, and everyone is stoked to see speedborders hitting it, so there defintely would be a large specator interest.

Nick, your link doesn't seem to work, but i would like to see it. When mcKendry and I put on the Vail Pass Race we took nearly a year, and had lots of help. That's what it would take to get a race going in Colorado. COSS showed interest in helping for Look Out, but they are focused on slalom. Certainly there must be enopugh DH riders in Colorado by now to get something to happen!!

DH race in Colorado.... Ever?

Joe, i know the Lookout thing keeps getting shut down (we got kicked off the hill the other day because there was a recent death), apparently the road needs to be cleared by 3 seperate agencies to be closed... i don't know if it will ever happen. But a Colorado DH event at Red Rocks Park would be sick, and totally feasible since it's Red Rocks' business to put on events... festivals, concerts, jams, and the road or entire park is easily closed. The best place to do it sets up a course that would be: run in, left hand sweeper, right hairpin, left 90, big drop, and finally a gnarly right hander that falls away through the turn. Here's the link to a view of the road. My tenative plans; I will schedule meeting times at the bottom of each side of the Pass. Meeting locations will include and not be limited to Bighorn rd in East Vail, Endos at Copper Mountain, Frisco Park and ride. The Pass shouldn't be taken lightly especially the narrow bike path sections with gravel and bikes. I will require helmets. I just cracked my new Icaro open last week coming down the westside race course. I'm working on a 20 man van and Never Summer and the Board room will be hooking it up. This will be one of the many events happening around the country and I dare say the best chance to run for miles dropping more vertical feet in one day than most have dropped there entire sk8ing life. Please ask questions so I can iron out any wrinkles ahead. There is plenty of camping in Vail and I can put up some folks traveling. We will also be riding some local faves. We could always use schwag?

It makes sense because then more people can participate without risking their life on Look Out. I still must run rhat hill when we go up to the US Nationals of Slalom in Aug. Vail Pass will make a good freeride, hype it up! I'll tell the boyz.

Right on Ryan, good to hear you are getting back out there and doing some skating. Rain runs rule. Man injuries suck, and it is always good to see people recover and get back out and skate! Now when are you and Dave going to come skate the West Side Albuquerque park? Sessions are going off Sunday Morning!

What do you know about how the cops deal with skaters? Is it like here in NM? Like bicyclists? Stay in your lane, don't obstruct traffic, etc? Do you live in Golden?

10 deep @ sandia crest yesterday was siicccc!! we road that hill from the very top to the very bottom, all 14 miles. the upper section was full of ciders left over from the hard winter but we skating it anyways, burning through shoes.
the bottom "soul jam" section was so rad, nothing like drafting and passing with a pack of 10 guys! it was some very very close riding
