What about racing Indian School and finish at the foot bridge? Timer would work, we could avoid crowds at the top, fairly stealth, it could work.

Nomination noted, but if you really want to race Indian School then the right way to shake things up is to attend the qualifer and become the OLDEST ever invitee. Ditch Slap is for all the rest of us "Special Edsters". Besides Tad, I thought that your real goal this year was to NOT get slapped as much as last year! We are creating a "Special" Slap Pass for you buddy!

I vote we have a race at indian school,as part of the ditch slap, for those of us not special enough to be invited to the invitational. I mean cmon, we are going to be riding it anyway, why not race it. just to stir things up a bit.

Upper La Cueva...man that ditch scared the poop out of me. It's got a great drop, but you need 76mm+ wheels and be ready to do 4-wheel drifts across the loose raked finish. Imagine the drop under Tramway in IS with a finish more raked than Carmel, add in some extra dirt and debris, and you've got a rough idea of the fear factor.

I was just getting to that one, I just need to put the finishing touches on my solution to this one first:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riemann_hypothesis
and then after that I'll learn how to spell "Espanol-A".

I hate to keep correcting you, Kaylee, because I know you're a super smart guy. But don't you mean Espanola? So you could say "I like to rolla down Espanola", or "I like to rolla (fat one) in Espanola".

Espanol is a town up north. I just think it sounds better to say "I like to roll down Espanol".

Thanks for the second K-Lee, but I think it's Espana? maybe? I thinks Espanol is the language. (Spain ditch is a continuation of Morris ditch, west of Eubank, east of Wyoming, in between Osuna and Spain.) Is it Morris or Layton?

Hey Joe - any info on races yet? Harper again? Katesnips? Just trying to get a little head start on practicing (I need it). Taking suggestions? I'd like to nominate "Spain" ditch. Not the fastest, but really smooth, and a good location. Houses are at least 50-75 yards from both sides of the ditch, friendly neighbors, and usually dry. Although the city alleviates it's water pressure with an occasional burst into the ditch. If I remember right, it happens around 7 or 8 PM - so it wouldn't jeapordize any racing.

It's funny you should ask about Danny boy. He called me today to give me his very own cell phone number, and he wants to get out and skate. He didn't have much time to talk but said he would be interested in going to Maryhill on the 19th. It is a good sign that he may be getting back into it with us, I hope.

Haha, Sorry Chris, I thing I have you by a few years. I rode it last year with the cinder on it. I think I wore out a shoe that day. I hope it will be clean for this years trip in may. I will need at least one extra day for riding Sandia. Great to hear you are having the ditch slap again this year Joe, and I hope I don't get slapped so many times this year.
