Arab,
did you ever have your own band? what do you play, or what did you do for these bands? just curious...
cabbage
ps i play drums in a hardcore band back east called Melee. I'm into that John Stainer style, big helmet, clutch, fan. Like music that crunches. Just wanted to get my two cents in.
ps Bobo the clown, drum solo contest with 300 ben franklin's to win, 2 weeks at the ottobar....I've gotten 2nd for the last 2 years, but this year things are gonna change. Just ordered classic drum solo's and drum battles vol 2, so I could grab a couple new ideas from, gene krupa. Last year I let the master John Bonam influence my peice this year I'm gonna go back a little further.
ps Arab, you seen Rude's gig, Jackpot?

Celebrity [sic] encounters eh?
I can do this.
I used to hang out and play at The Living Room in Providence RI all through the 80's and have met my share of musicians.
Used to party with Savatage all the time. On a first name basis with Joey and DD Ramone. Opened for Queensryche during their "Warning" Tour. Opened for Killer Dwarfs, Overkill, Foghat, Mountain [Leslie West is a trip] and Night Ranger [The Strand in Prov]. Many more that escape me at this time. My brother Rick was in security at the Prov Civic Center for many years. Got to meet many a rock star that was as well. Once traded licks with Malmsteen [that was a hoot]. Met my hero Eddie VH a couple of times too.
My band 2nd Thought used to play the new Living Room and opened up for Godsmack a few times. I met Sully back when he sang for Band of Thieves in the early 90's. Opened up for Staind as well [we played first of 5 bands that night].
I have pix if I can pry em out of my ex-wifes hands. She seems to be holding onto them for some bizarre reason.
To make this skate related.....
Got to skate the ramp at Ozzfest in Va 3 years ago.
Rockin and Skatin.........

Hey Nic, You know I was really fortunate to beable to tour with some of my favorite bands, Workin for the Damned was just unreal and a dream come true, Its hard to seperate EMPLOYEE from FAN. One thing I never comprimized on was working for a band I couldnt stand, I mean could you imagine haveing to tour with somebody whos music you just cant even stomach....
I had a good friend from New Zealand named Miles, he was a RAD drummer that played here in the states for a few years, he was in a band called EL Groupo Sexo that was the raddest party band EVER!!!!!! he later went on to form a Band with "O" who was a staff photog for transworld for years, the band was called FLUFF.
Heres a funny story about Miles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers were auditioning drummers for the band, I had worked for the peppers for years and some friends got Miles to come try out, meanwhile Chad the current drummer calls up the Manager Lindy who was a drummer himself and played for the Monkeys behind the curtain on the Hendrix tour around 67-69? Lindy asks Chad if he can play drums, Chad is this detroit city rocker that doesnt even know who the peppers are but he is just lookin for a gig, Chad sez "he eats drums for breakfast" So anyways Miles is auditioning with the peppers and the Band is really diggin his sh%t, I'm thinkin Miles is gonna get the gig. Chad shows up and starts settin up his gear just kinda vibin Miles as best he can, Lindy kinda gives the high sign to the band that this is the guy that eats drums for breakfast, Well Miles is done and its Chads turn, Flea sez look I'll start a little groove and you just come in when you feel comfortable, the first 30 seconds Chad is just lost, Keep in mind that this is just some Detroit city rocker that has no Clue who or what the peppers are into, So for the first 30 seconds the band is lookin at each other like" This is the guy that eats drums for breakfast F%ck Lindy what are you sending us!" Chad is lookin back at the peppers like "what the F%ck are you guys into?" So he kinda figures it out and all of sudden catches on and just starts bustin chops like you aint never seen, They tell Lindy to cancel the rest of the auditions and Jam for hours with Chad.
Had Chad not shown up I'm pretty sure Miles would have gotten the gig. I was bummed for Miles, after that he moved back to New Zealand and I havent heard of him since, He was an awesome drummer.
Did I ever tell ya about the time Wendy O Williams bout knocked me out! Or the time Madonna sat on my lap! or when I was hangin out with Barbara Stiesand talking Politics............

As for wheels I use various set-ups, if its outright unmakeable, I use the OJ's in the back, Most the time I'm using Avalons, I have several cutdown modified sets to chose for each situation and surface.

Good post it is then.
Thanks for the encouragement.
OK, I have raced before and am missing it due to this bloody snow every other day. I can't hit the mountains to snowboard due to work constraints. I break out one of my slalom boards every time there's a dry patch of ground but I'm just hating this New England winter already.
Baltimore has been getting some snow so that makes me feel better a bit [yeah........... right]
Since I've been sorta hangin around working on nearly every family members car I get a chance to tweak my gear [the wrenches are always out it seems]. I've been tweaking here and there and have actually gone back to a set of Comet Metors [88a] up front on one of my Turners. I find em to turn a bit better than Stingers or Cambrias due to their narrow width. This seems like going backwards but it's working for me. I've yet to run any cones with em [I use Turner cones] so I don't have real world results, but I can tell they turn better.
What are you guys using in the front these days? For TS and Hybrid type courses.
I realize this is not the "wheels" forum but wanted to get all that other stuff behind us.

Hey Arab and Brady. Why don't you get a room and sort it out yourselves..............
Not only is this old, it's boring.
Arab goes from being banned to posting like his life depends on it. On top of that he makes little sense half the time.
Brady, you keep goading him and then stand back with the "who me?" thing goin on.
It was entertaining for a while, now it's droll.

Brady, I just looked at the link you posted, I never seen that link because I was not able to access NCDSA for the last year, but right at the bottom here is what it sez:
"The racer with the most points for the entire FCR Series including the World Championship Races will be the FCR Series Champion as well as the United States Champion."
Does that say FCR SERIES Champion?
Because if thats what it sez then thats what it is, and Paul Dunn would be the FCR Series Champ, Did Chris Chaput say that he beat the FCR Series Champ? What did Chris Chaput say Brady?
Cool that PD gets the US title also. I never knew that.

Brady, Look back at my clues, which option would you prefer?
Now go back and read every post from Chaputs OG post on. Did you miss the part where I thanked Jack for correcting me because I wasnt diligent enough to try and get the information off of the FCR website that my computor will not read. ITS SERIES and always has been the SERIES, Paul only won the SERIES. Did you miss the part where Don got it wrong? but the key word was and is SERIES, what part dont you understand about series, Let me try one more time,
FCR did a series of races, at the end of the series or season the person with the most points wins the series, after the world championships Paul Dunn was deemed the Series Champ because he had the most points.
Brady show up and race someday and then you will start to get a feel how all this works, sitting behind your computor 1000's of miles away from where the action is taking place will only help to confuse you more.
Arab PS come back when you have something crediable, like facts!

Here`s a clue for you Arab (since you can`t access the FCR site) and it`s been available for many months...
http://www.ncdsa.com/contest_registration.asp?ContestID=66
Though you originally argued over the term "Overall", your arguement then turned to the term "Worlds", and NOW you want it to be "Series" yet no one ever contested that.
As the Church Lady used to say... "How convenient"

Arab, I knew all alonh that Paul`s title was the "Series" title. You on the otherhand have contested either one of two things...whether his titla was a "World" title or "Overall" title. Well obviously there is no such thing as the FCR "Overall" title. Though you clearly referred to Chicken`s titke as "2002 Overall World Champ Champ". And since you only got your information from his trophy, it must say that? WRONG. And this is why I`ve said over and over, as well as others, that you were wrong. But did you admit to it? NO.
So keep this going and it`ll prove the more so of your stature. As you see, a man is judged by his honesty and integrity...not by how he can dominate with his own ignorance.
And one last thing...how is it you have this wonderful computer that can crack codes and pull all this magical information out and yet not be able to see the FCR website when everyone else can?

Brady maybe this will help with your confusion, do you rememebr this post.
On 12/30/2002 Arab wrote in from 24.24.xxx.xxx: Brady Hows your slalom coming, can you get around the first cone yet, I will be happy to give you lessons someday for free,
If you look at my post you will find that I said Sorry to Jack for not being more diligent. For some reason I can not access the FCR page so I do not no what it said and Jack was kind enough to inform me with the correct information. Although might I add that Chickens Series Trophy only sez "FCR Series" so I guess thats why I assumed that it was what it was. A small fact that was overlooked because the only thing I looked at was a trophy that said FCR Series.

Brady I just realized you are so confused you have got everything so convuluted that you dont know what the heck your talking about, besides all this crap is old news that was brought to light over a week ago. Where were you then? Oh thats right you hadnt a clue then and you still havent a clue now,
Go all the way back to Chris Chaputs original post, Cut and paste every post from everybody that had thoughts on the subject into MS word, study it for a few days then come back and let us know what you have come up with.

Brady what you probably missed along the way was my thank you to Jack and Don for clearing things up, Because if you go back and read the posts, even FCR didnt have it right. I cannot access the FCR site so I dont know what the true name of the titles were at the time, But I know that Paul was the SERIES champ.
I guess you missed that part, let me tell you what the key word is that Chaput and you have missed all along. "SERIES" that is the key word to Pauls title, if you dont have that word in there it means nothing, In reality you could say that "Paul is the "overall" 2002 FCR Series Champ" all though "overall" is not used in the definition it doesnt change the definition, if you did not include SERIES, "Paul is the Overall 2002 FCR Champ", Overall of what? Thats why the key word that you and Chaput did not get is so important.
Paul Was The SERIES Champ
A series is a bunch of races that were awarded points for each race, the person that had the most points at the end of the series was deemed the winner. Thats why paul Dunn is the Series Champ , because he had the most points.
Brady, Can I rent you a clue on the 30 day trial plan tell you what I'll give you the 6 month lease option Clue for no money down. Or your can take the low interest rate fixed clue with an annual rate of 3.37689. Or would you like a "series" of clues that come by-monthly for a fixed rate. I also can offer an "overall" clue that is a 1 time special for nothing down to be paid off in 90 days.
So what was your petty little question again?
