Arab, why is it that you seem to think that the only way to win an argument (usually one that you started)is to keep on quoting out of context and repeating the same un-truths over and over again?
Maybe quoting out of context will work for me, lets see shall we? A while ago you asked G7enn to perform a sex act on you, a few posts back you use the phrase 'Kiss my Ass', does this make you gay (or at least bi-sexual), do you crave the affection of other men? Now I doubt that this is the case (but I have seen Deliverance and you do act like a red-neck, so who knows, squeal boy, squeal). Maybe you could just stick to the facts in future?

G7enn: I generally resent the idea of adults taking part in kids' sports because most of the old people are there for the sport instead of the kids. This isn't about pushing your kid to some direction. I've never said anything related to that.

Antti, like most sane people who ever tried to participate in alt.skate-board I have a lot of respect for most of what you have to say but the "shot on sight" comment just made it seem you know nothing about kids.
Firstly, it made me think you might actually be one of those (thankfully rare) types who resent the presence of old guys and little kids in their sport. Of course, knowing you are a longboard and oldschool enthusiast make this seem unlikely.
Secondly, you can't make your kids do things they don't want to, it's all about gentle nudges and encouragment, as soon as mine showed any interest I simply made sure they have decent equipment (nothing puts kids off skating like rock hard bushings and wheels that won't roll), get to the skatepark as often as possible and beyond that, I nudge them in the direction of working the mini before investing too much time in soul-destroying kickflip practice. I'm not sure i'd bribe Jack into dropping in on a 10 foot vert ramp but then, he's not quite ready yet.
Before I had kids of my own I think I might have ranted against the idea of parents pushing their kids too hard myself, especially if I got to rant against an abrasive luddite troll like Arab. That said, as a parent i'm with Arab on this.
I still think Arab's being incredibly unfair to repeatedly bring up what you said in another forum, completely out of context, presumably in an attempt to turn his 'friends' against you, but then that's his debating style isn't it?

I know why some people don't like arab, but those same people need to understand this message board is people communicating through a keyboard. remember we all have our own opions, but when face to face, circumstances change. If you spent time knowing Arab face to face, your views would most likely be watered down.
Here is an example:
Brad Edwards and Me are great friends and team mates, however we have clashed many times because of this same reason. I have found myself toe to toe with him in a restraunt in Japan, to the shallow end of the nude bowl. I'll tell you right now if him and I had never met face to face, and had met on this site, we would clash. Some people value the otherside of the coin, and it's there right to. I think Brad rules, and I don't want to get to far of track so dude ,(and anti s brax) chill.

Nicky-Siesmics are a great truck, they take some getting use to, I would recommend a traditional truck for somebody just starting out, after ya get the hang of it , move up to the siesmic. The Bahne is a good start also, good luck! stop back and let us all know how yer doin when ya get the goods.
