Josh, think we met on the street one day, you were telling me about bombing the parking garage. I went once and I got booted by the attendant. Well, now its time to break out the alpine carver and go dig some trenches at Copper. Have fun!!

Hey Bryan Myhr! Where be this place you speak of? I'm Guessing Its on the old highway, or maybe the drop before napeague. I live out thataway too (well, not quite that far out, a couple of towns over, actually) and have been to a few good hills along e. lake drive. Not too many people into the downhill thing out here. Give another post and maybe we can bomb a few hills (bomb might be a little strong a word considering the terrain). I'll keep watching.
P.S. Ever try Two Holes Of Water in E. Hampton?

The best place I have found riding is parking garage's! I know it sounds weird but I found a few about 7 stories high and if they have an elevator you never have to push. You just ride 7 stories down and wait to get kicked out by the security guards. I have been to about 40 different garages in several states from here to California. They kick ass.

Red Jacket Trail- Mankato, Minnesota
On 11/25/2001 jOe wrote in from (209.23.nnn.nnn)

The trail is all new pavement outside Mankato, Mn. It follows County Road 90 down into the river vally. The scenery is some of the best in southern Minnesota. The first portion is quite steep, and makes fore some steller carving. The best run is about 3.5 miles total. A great experance for any long boarders in southern Minnesota!!!

Hope in "BC Bud" is about 1 hour drive East of Vancouver. Highway # 3 about 5 min east of Hope has been repaved there is 6 miles of sick 5% to 7% grade it's a really nice run. The Hwy is pretty quite for traffic most of the time. It's the rain that can destroy your day, eh

Glendora Mtn. Rd. San Gabriel Mtn.'s Calif.
On 11/19/2001 airbornehippo wrote in from (209.79.nnn.nnn)

Hello all you Knuckleheads in So Cal! Took the first road trip of my short longboarding career (been at it a few months now) to the beautiful San Gabriel Mts. just north of Glendora. Break out your Thomas Guide and look up Glendora Mountain Road, then pack your lunch, grab your board and head for the hills. My friend Jorge and I went on a Sunday, so there was some traffic, but still minimal, especially down Shoemaker Rd. where traffic was nonexistent. Shoemaker should be called Shoeshredder, as it's a little bumpy/rough but it's about 2mi. long and well worth the walk back up to the top. Anyone with some other suggestions in the So Cal area?? Thanks! Erik

I have a custom made 48 inch and I have another 69 inch custom in the mail, but I just moved to San Diego from Seattle where I have to say if you live in the U-dub district going down Wallingford on a clear night is like finding the gateway to heaven. But right now I need a sweet ass place to go in San Diego, if any one knows.

i found an awesome place. seen the krypto add in ILB, that is what some of these roads resemble. there are several miles of new roads, with gentle rolling to steep hills, long runs. no houses yet, no cops, approx 60 miles from Flagstaff, AZ. at 7000 ft in the woods. absolutely no facilities. if you ride bring everything you need cause there are no stores etc. sat and sunday riding. e-mail me for directions i don't want this spot wasted. i ain't trying to be a jerk but there are no street names yet to tell you how to get there. i reckon the houses will start at 250k, ride now and probably through 2002. (maybe a site for a future slalom race, ARIZONA 2002, so be nice) the day time temps are 60-70's cause of the elevation, it is a beautiful place. george.

Route 27, Montauk, NY.
On 11/13/2001 Bryan Myhr wrote in from (207.198.nnn.nnn)

This hill is a great hill for where I live on Long Island, NY. It is roughly 1/2 mile long, and It is a pretty big drop. I know this doesn't compare to most of those hills in CA, but If you live on LI you would appreciate this hill. The only problem is that this hill is a slightly busy highway, but It is smoothly paved, and looks over the ocean. I was thinking of going on thanksgiving night, around 3:00 am, because there would be no cars, just moonlight. email me If you want to come, or need more info on how to get there

Wellington NZ

I'm in Wellington and this place is a playground of gradients for all tastes. Has a sort of Hong-Kong clutter thats pretty interesting. Mostly too gnarly for me but I've had some good rides; this whole city is built on a hill. Parking structures are wild, there is continuous spiral ramp that is about 15ft wide, for example. Anyway, to anybody travelling to Wellington NZ: take your skateboard.

Old Santa Cruz Hwy
On 11/4/2001 Biffoz wrote in from (64.168.nnn.nnn)

Ok... further recon showed that only the middle section from Idyllwild, up past Holy City to the construction area is *really* smooth. It's just under 2 miles long, so still qualifies as a *really good* run.

From Idyllwild down is some fun carving, but there's pretty good asphalt, not butter grade, and a few unsettling weird slippery patches. Otherwise it's also a fairly good run. Speeds for both in the 15-25 range unless you're bombing.

The upper section is nearly flat, with a couple short drops... It has GREAT pavement and is over a mile long. Possibly a good first run for beginning carvers?

Anyway... I was a little disappointed, but plan to get back to that middle section for some more carving!
