Mick: If you're asking about the skatepark in Ocean City, Maryland, it's great. I live in DC and it's one of my favorite skateparks, even though I have to travel 2.5 hours to get there. I even like it better than Vans in DC so it's well worth the trip. They've got a 8 foot dropin and rollin into a nice street course, a 12 foot halfpipe, a 6 foot halfpipe, a little bowl and a 10 foot deep kidney shaped pool. All day skate is like $10 for non-residents.

Also, if you have a car, you can head on down to our neck of the woods hyar and check out the mammoth Vans park at Potomac Mills (NE Virginia). Most of it is not very old school, but they do have two bowls and a big ole pool. Longboarders do sesh it--saw a dude on a Gravity Team and RII 150s last time.

Hey, Mick---

YEAH! There is one of the best old school parks in the land right in Balto, it's called Landsdowne. Do a Search on "Landsdown" and you will find lots of info, reviews, and directions. I don't know if it's open or what, and its not in the best neighborhood, but me and a friend jumped the fence a while back and had the place all to ourselves for the whole day. Very cool snake run, bowl, from the 70s.

Woonsocket, RI
On 5/2/2002 Duane wrote in from (68.15.nnn.nnn)

I open "The Valley Breeze", the local weekly rag, and what do I see ? It seems that somehow Woonsocket has secured the Gravity Games ramps, free, for use in a skatepark to be built this summer. I assume this does not include the half pipe, but even the others for the "street" course were pretty good. The "committee" appears to be about 9 blowhards and one skater, so I am going to call and offer my assistance with design and wet-up. Anyone else in the area I encourage to come out and help. Woonsocket Human Services director Mary Landreville is taking volunteers at 401-767-9208.

"The Funnel"
On 4/29/2002 Mark wrote in from (199.46.nnn.nnn)

OK, so someone sent me a picture of a spot (ditch) called "The Funnel" that
is somewhere near Dallas / Ft. Worth, Texas. I did a search with the word
funnel, and came up with nothing but talk of slalom cones. Anyone out there
know where this spot is?
I promise I won't ride it more than a few times a month! E-mail me direct
and you won't have to let everyone in on it. Please?
I seem to live "out of the loop". :(
That's what I get for being an old fart in a young man's world, I guess.
