Very nice place near of Zurich. It`s
a easy way, with the cablecars to
Zurich zoo. The ride is very long and
fast. But the railroads and a lot of cars
can be tortured.

Cimmaron Hills, Scottsdale AZ
On 2/28/1999 John wrote in from ()

Cimmaron Hills, a fine hills for cruising. Not too fast, thought if you wanted to bomb it you could probably hit somewhere in the neiborhood of 30+. If you want a nice, two and a half lane wide, less than 6 month old pavement, and a little under a half mile long, with varying steepness, and a little bit of turning, then this should be a fun one for you. My friend and I spent a couple of hours carving yesterday. The speedo said that we did about 20 all the way down, no pushing.
Wanna try? FLW blvd, take a right onto Thompson peak, go over the bridge, right at the light, follow around for about 1/2 mile, take a right on 105th, first left after the tennis court, follow that to the top, and there you go. If you give it a shot, let me know what you think.

P.S. any mountain boarders, they're building a golf course right by the bridge. Right now you have probably about a hunderd yards of 6+ foot berms staggered in series. I don't mountain board, but I saw that and though that it might be kind of fun.

Hacienda Heights/Whittier, CA
On 2/27/1999 LL wrote in from ()

I've got to add what LBC Ben posted up the Hacienda/Whittier area has some pretty tight slopes. Look for consistant gradients on Colima Rd between Hacienda and Whittier Blvd.
Hacienda Blvd. itself has nasty curves around the Buddist Temple.
The Turnbull Canyon area Ben pointed out can be accessed from the 60 freeway exit Seventh Ave.
Haliburton Blvd accessable from Hacienda Blvd. Is a smooth low-traffic slope with lots of room for carving.

Hey, this is the pro-est run in the world. It's crazy. I tried it with my Kapu's and eat it. Anyway it starts at the 18th fairway on the golf course and its down on at least a 45 degree angle, it has crazy turns and hardly any room to carve. If you try it be ready to bail.

Semour street is the most deadly street i have ever seen.
I only know of a few people who have gunned it from the top.
If any of you hardcore longboarders are down in Albany i
recommend to skate it.

Any Van boarders out there, check out the Bloedel Conservatory in queen elizabeth park ( 33rd and cambie ) for a wild downhill run. The conservatory is at the top of the hill, and the road down is a sweet series of steep linked turns. The bails on both sides of the road are grass, but look out for the runout... it's a major street. (watch for traffic kiddies!) This run is definitely worth a look, and maybe even a special trip. Enjoy!

Loookin fer downhillers in the long beach (so.cal) area, for bombing hills; i'll skate a little bit of signal, as well as pickup some otro spots @ long beach. e mail me

p.s. if your in so. east LA county, grab a Thomas guide and check out Hacienda heights, nice runs near the buddhist temple too; get your map and find out wher Hadley ends in whittier, you will be PLEASANTLY surprised.
nuther note: Rose hills may seem enticing but during the day it's a bust,(security gaurds have nothin to do at cemetary's but hasle punk kids.) and at night it's kinda freaky, cuz rent a cops + low visibility + funky road cond'ns make for a so so ride. explore the roads nearby (a la Spyglass) during a nice quiet afternoon when traffic and homeowner's aren't in a cop callin mood.
If jumpin out an airplane seems like too much of a hassle, take beverly blvd all the way up til it turns into turnbull canyon road, keep drivin til you hit the apex, then turn around and skate. It IS skateable (or so i've heard) during mid afternoon when there aren't as much cars buzzin round,
but that's what i've "Heard".

post if you know of hi quality runs in Palos Verdes, North OC, or any where between.

Are there any good spots in the eastern Mass. area?
I have been looking for some mellow hills with little traffic to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated. Of course the roads are now covered
with sand and salt, but for the spring thaw out.
