Altadena, CA
On 5/16/1999 Robert wrote in from (216.112.nnn.nnn)

Altadena, near Pasadena/LA, has some great streets for downhill. I grew up there, and I went back recently and tried my favorite run and it was still great.
Start on Mountain Curve, and keep going down to hook up with Maiden Lane. It's good all the way down to Mendecino anyway, or even to New York. Watch for cars, especially Sheriff cars.

Hey does anyone know any good places to skate in the Philadelphia-south New Jersey area?

I've found a few in local towns so if you'll be anywhere in the area email me and I can give you some suggestions.

Piedmont California

This little town in the east bay (the foothills of Oakland)has many sick runs. The solid crew of High school downhillers enjoy the following streets: Mountain Blvd., Wildwood Ave., Scenic Ave, and Moraga Ave (among many other runs, short and long). Best time to skate is before 5 Am Come check it out. Many beginner runs along with super fast advanced runs. It's Key.

Mount Carmel
On 5/14/1999 lisa johnston wrote in from (206.207.nnn.nnn)

mount carmel in my home town has got to be the best place
to ride. locals from all over come here to skate. we are
receiving so much publication and so many reviews of this
spot that the city may be deciding to cut off the streets
for downhill only. yeah, that's right, that means no cars
and more fun and more speed and more people and more partying
so please e mail me for more information to kick off this
plan.

i have reached speeds of forty five miles an hour so if
you ever decide to stop by bring safety gear.

It's right next to Pilote Butte Middle School, like right accross the street. Go all up and down around there, lots of good hills. E-Mail me, maybe we can go boarding sometime.

Clermont, FL
On 5/11/1999 Mike wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

Hills in FL? You bet, f***ing deadly too...Clermont, FL-USA's Triathlon Capital has the hills to kill and a cool lake to swim in after to wash all the blood off. My ex-girlfriend nearly died after a concussion and then into seizures. Helmets, guys. Its a sweet sleepy little town 25 miles west of Orlando on HWY 50 with some sick straight and curvy hills, some are nicely paved and some aren't. We rode charged on Sector 9 48" pintails. Use something longer and watch out for the curb after that gravelly patch near the manhole cover at the bottom of 7th, it's a killer... It's ok though the hospital is less than two minutes away by ambulance-well within dragging distance. Enjoy:)

Some really sweet hills here. I ride shortboard, but I know
that you longboarders would love these spots. This entire area
is pretty much a valley by the way. New pavement too!

On 4/15/1999 Gabe wrote in from ()

A friend of mine crashed bad on this hill about 2 weeks ago and I have been wanting to try it again. So I did today. I flew like a bat out of hell. I was going at least 30 down this winding road with trafic. It was cool. Lot's of people gave me crap about being a longboarder though, but I guess it just goes with the territory. Bunch of hick cowboys.
Peace

Sabre Springs
On 4/11/1999 James wrote in from ()

This is a GREAT spot, about 2 miles long with fresh pavement, top speeds of about 40. Nice flat roll-out. It's in San Diego off the I-15. Take Poway Rd. exit East, 2 miles or so later, you'll go Right on Springhurst. Go to the top and figure it out from there. Enjoy!! Also, I love bombing and know a lot of excellent spots in S.D. If anyone wants to go I'd love to show you.
