New Guy,
The sign on the fence says that the Grand Opening of the OB Park will be Saturday, Feb. 19, 11 am-5 pm. It looks really good, although probably a bit tight on a longboard. Hard to tell for sure, since I've just been checking it out from the car as I drove by. I have a feeling that Temecula is still going to be better for a longboard. You can check it out yourself pretty easy. Just take I-8 West, and it's right there where you turn left to go to OB. If you kept going straight where the freeway ends you'd drive right into the fence.
I'm going to be going on Saturday. It's bound to be a total zoo, but I've been waiting over two years for them to finish this thing. E-mail me if you want to go Saturday (or whenever). Also e-mail me if you want to hit Temecula or even do some hill carving, I'll let you know the next time we are going.
Later,
Chris

Some phat runs here should you ever be in the area...W. Highland to Mission drive (gotta carve it up like a mofo though), Santa Cruz to Anacapa (INSANE RUN!!!! AWESOME AS HELL IF YOU SACK IT UP),my street San Clemente Way, fun as fuck. East Highland; West and East Loop; and finally Alosta (now thats a fun ass hill). Just use minimal safety equipment(at least),think with your cajones and youll have a good time with these runs. Remember to always watch for cars!! Late

I live in Norway, and it`s very cold. But there are dry asphalt many places but covered with ice at the edges. Could I ride?
(There is only cold in the winter. In the summertime it`s real hot here)

hola amigos, just wanted to drop another note. Well, I'm still missing cali like crazy but I keep finding some pretty good hills. Last time I posted U.of Md. for it's streets and sidewalks. Now I want to mention Baltimore for it's streets. Mostly flat, but fairly smooth, around the harbor. Venture across the harbor behind the Md. science center and there is a park on top of a hill. This street is very steep, fast and hairy at the bottom...hope you can powerslide! There's also another hill by the Washington statue/ train station that's long and fast. I found bunches of good hills much to my surprise, but I sure won't miss this place when I go back to cali!

There's some sick roads up here for hill bombers, (steep! twists! scary but not impossible) and some pretty key areas for off-road skates, too. Alas, I have no one to ride with. Any NorCal riders Email me for dope spots to hurt yourself on.

This video has the most thorough pool, pipe, snake-run style parks, and ditch oriented locations I have ever seen! It may not be Signal Hill, but it is old school! Bring your shortboard, longboard, or hybrid skate to anyone of the parks shown in this video and you'll be stoked! Once you see the name of any of these places that you want to skate go to tumyeto.com or skateboarding.com and they'll tell you everything you want to know under their 'skateparks' section.

I've ridden there many times. It's nice but a bit tight for longboards. I usually ride a 38" deck there because the transistions are pretty fast and a longer deck would be real hard to ride. It is a fun park though and it's always nice to see other longboarders at a skatepark. You should check out Skatelab in Simi Valley. They have a cool bowl and half-pipe that is great for longboards. Even their street course is cool for longboards, it hs big 1/4 pipes on each side.

I'm going to Chicago next summer, and I'd like to take my longboard with me. Is somebody here from Chicaho? I'd like to go to some skate shops the stuff is about half as expensive as in Switzerland) and maybe meet someone to skate with. Greetings,

This hill is shortbut fast. One crazy guy got towed into the hill behind a golf cart. You have to cut across the golf course through duncan park. therea a hole in the fence. Watch for neighborhood rent-a-cops.

State street is a oneway street that flows from the Eastside to downtown. I've bommed it in the middle of the day using both lanes. Just wait for the traffic behind you to catch a red light and go for it. The only down fall is a couple of lights that really suck when they turn red. The traffic will slow down for you. The people are pretty cool here. The other spot is Harrison Ave. just across town It flows from the Westside to downtown. At the top is a cool Little boardshop called Northwest Snowboards. Stop in the guys there are pretty cool. Have fun Peace-Out, Kap.

ullola street is a nice long(5-10 min) ride with some fairly steep hills. the street dumps out onto the great highway about 50 feet from ocean beach. The streets are nice and smooth good for carving and bombing. The only bad part is a double set of train tracks near the end. anyway lots of fun.!!

The parking structure at Santa Clara University is a nice fast/quick ride if you are in the area. Make sure to use the elevator though, no sense in walking up the entire structure
