In Phx: for BOMBING 7th st and thunderbird, fountain hills, Barlett lake road entrance 7 to 9 miles of curving glory some flat spots better to ride at the crake of dawn on a weekday to avoid all cars better bring someone to shutle it's a long hike back.
SKATE PARKS in Phx...west side...ENCHANTO PARK has smooth bowls lots of curbs for drop offs mini ramp and a peramide, PEORIA PARK brand new have to see it my self, THRASHER LAND PARK one small full pipe 3half pipes one is a spine and a giant 25 ft high ramp with a snake pit at the bottom I found the park hard to ride other then the ramp all made of old wood and fiberglass, It felt like riding the old Coney Island wooden roller Coster. THE ZONE is now closed down. THE WEDGE PARK in scottsdale 3 bowls, flat area, stairs, rails mini ramp, peramide the park is ok if you ride as long if it's your local park it was not made by someone who rides, all bowls and ramps are not smooth as if angles were put to gether hard to get used to. CHANDLER PARK awsome park two pro bowls one you had better wear protection because its about 20ft deep mostly vert if you fal it hurts, hugh ramps, huge peramide, few rails and ledges very slipery park bring your grippest wheels not all ramps and bowls are smooth it could have been the most awsome park in AZ. MESA PARK my favorite incred smooth ramps good for long boarding only if you have a kick tail use your shorter long board for best results, giant ramps 2 peramides lots of square feet, a pro bowl with a spine in the middle, lots of chicks, way cool scene!
FLAGSTAFF PARK have not been to it yet, I hear it's good, Indoor as well huge drop in with a hugh bowl made of wood.
TUCSON I have been hearing about Mt. lemon road, The famous "LEMON DROP" great for bombing I'll give you a report when I go some time. my e-mail is starrovr76@hotmail.com if your in town, Keepin the vibe check out my homemades on home.earthlink.net/~starrovr

Dave,

Very cool. I've never skated them, but I used to ride an ice cream cart down them all of the time. In college, I sold Chipwich ice cream out a push cart there. The cart was almost the size of a regular refrigerator set on its side with four wheels. It had a foot bar and a handle on the back. You could ride it by standing on the back and dragging a foot skate-style to slow yourself and turn by moving your dragging from side to side. Actually the tunnel that led into the bowels of the building was shorter but faster. It used to freak people out when they'd see me coming at them at 10-15 mph on a 600 lb ice cream cart. They eventually made me stop riding them.

Later,

Chris

Well I finally did it!!!! Something I've dreamed of doing since the 1st time I attended a San Diego Chargers game 12 years ago. I RODE THE CIRCULAR RAMPS/WALKWAYS.

I happened to be going to the "Q" to buy some Padre tickets and after I completed the transaction I noticed some maintanace workers going thru a open gate. I quickly grabbed my R2 equipped Hypercarve and ran up the ramp.

The concrete was sssoooo smoooooth. It was so fast. I crouched down and dragged a hand almost the whole time to handle the speed. MAN THAT WAS FUN. Got 3 runs before I got ran out. YEAH!!!!

Dave

Any tips on good spots in Seattle? I'm pretty new to the longboarding "thang" so it doesn't have to be real extreme.

Thanks!

Mr.McKendry,you've got three choices;drive northwest about an 1-1/2 hours,buy a surf-kite for your longboard,or get the town to pave over the entire bump of Mt.Trashmore. :}

Almaden Valley, San Jose, CA
On 6/11/2000 Robert wrote in from (206.111.nnn.nnn)

Franciscan Way in Almaden valley is a pretty mellow run. Start at Paso Los Cerritos, and when you get to the corner of De Palma I recommend taking the left. You can bomb Franciscan if you have a death wish, or you can take De Palma and then Monteverde. Not much traffic, pretty wide and smooth, steep enough but not too steep.
